I know this is not a Marauder issue, butI was wondering if some Marauder guys were also 5.0 guys. Anywho, the problem I am having is trying to put my serpentine belt back on the alternator, air conditioning, crank and water pump. I must have messed something up when I inadvertently took of the tentioner, now the tensioner presses down so much on the belt that it touches the bottom belt, therefore the belt won't turn. Does anyone know how I can rectify the problem?

how about the little diagram on the header panel or in the owner's manual...no reason to take off tensioner...for sure. Find another car like yours and check out the routing.

Same tentioner name was already on it! The hammer is the last resort!:mad2:

Same routing pattern, that's good. For some reason, the tentioner is pushing down more than normal.

Classic symptom of a belt that is too long.
Is this a new belt? If the parts store looked it up for you and you no longer have the smog pump or power steering then I guarantee you it is way too long.
If it is a new belt then get some twine or string and wrap it around the pullies (ignore the tensioner pulley). Take off the string, measure it, then go to the parts store and tell them you need a 6-rib serpentine belt in that length.

Also I think there is a difference between belts if the AC is factory or dealer installed - could be the problem.
Still have the old belt? How about popping that one on to see if that one still fits?
