Anyone have the SS Inserts and use their MM all year? I'm curious to know how well they hold up to rain, snow, and salt, if they are unaffected by weather. Chicago weather, that is.

The SS inserts were the first mod I did to my MM. I live in N.C. and I've had the inserts installed for over 4 years my MM is a daily driver, isn't kept in the garage and the inserts look just as good today as when I opened the package for the first time.

Hint:
When installing them use rubbing alcohol and Q-tips to clean the recessed area. If it looks clean clean it one more time.

I had one letter fall off shortly after I put them on.
The letter was replaced quickly. I have had no problems since in over three years of DD Chicago driving.

+1 on ^^^^ this. My SS Inserts have been on for 3.5 years, daily driver, and also outside year round. Just like new. :D

SS inserts better hold up. My cheap eBay ones that my friend bought me for my b-day when I bought the car last year have held up through winter, snow, and all good NE stuff.

I agree with what they all said. I have them on both cars, both DD, both over 100k.

Over 2 years on my DD that has 113000 that is outside 24/7. Not a hint of a problem. Did a light polish over the mounting area followed with a wipe of 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. Did a slight bending, by hand, to better follow the contour of the bumper. ;)

I live in DuPage and drive my MM all year....when there's no snow on the ground. I've had the inserts on for a while with no problems whatsoever.

Where are you located?

Excellent! I've had chrome stuff before on the exterior of my vehicles and they didn't even properly last a year. These look very nice and for that kind of cash I'd want them to last forever. With all the good words put in for them, I'll pick some up soon.

My car calls Woodridge home, as do I. :D You?

SS Inserts ain't chrome. They are Stainless Steel polished to a mirror-like finish. That's probably why the vendor calls them SS Inserts.
