Hi,
I see goodyear has the Eagle Ultra Grip GW3 V rated snow tire in sizes that might work well for us.
Regular Goodrich Stock MM sizes:
235/50-18 Front
245/55-18 Rear
This is a 5 to 6% variance in outside diameter rear to front.
Goodyear snow availability
225/50-17 Front
235/55-17 Rear
This is a 5% variance in outside diameter rear to front. Should be no problem with traction control.
Note both are one size narrower than the stock size which is good for snow tires. Could be more narrow but everything is always a bit of a tradeoff.
The snows are both almost 5% SMALLER IN DIAMETER THAN THE STOCK TIRES. The speedo will be off slightly. It will read 60MPH when your are really only doing 57.2 MPH. Not too bad.
I have a set of the 17" rims from a CV sport. I suppose almost any of the newer ford rims in 17" will work for the winter.
I still haven't had to drive the MM in the winter. 0nly 14K miles total so far.
Sometimes though it is good to be prepared.
