i should also mentioned i just got the car back for this problem, check engine light on and OD light flashing. they replaced some harnesses and it was off for the first two days i got it back, no lights flashing again! the computer is back to stock, i havent put the tune in for the higher stall TC and gears, could that cause the light to come on?

It shouldn't cause the light to flash, but I don't have gears or a T/C. Perhaps the bulb is on its way out?

I never heard of a bulb flashing or lighting up to warn you that it's on the way out.

I said perhaps, meaning I am unsure. Just throwing ideas out there.

The OD light is also a check engine light for your tranny. The light will flash out a code.
I had this happen when my shift pressure was too high from a tune.

Yup. Flashy light thingy not a good thingy. Mine flashed (the od light) before the tranny took a ***** in the crown vic. Engine light was on also, but for an unrelated valve problem. Rebuilding half a motor (one side) for a valve job doesn't work, ask the Einsteins that tried that one.

Ol' Black I did it many times. I would stop, turn engine off then back on and the light would reset. My guess was that it had something to do with the manual shifter position sensor. Never had a tranny problem in 187K.

Overheating tranny will cause the flashing od light.
Also, when the transmission has internal slippage, it will cause the flashing light.

Blinking OD lamp not good.
Many possibilities, none are good.
Best of luck on the repair!

thanks for the comments on it. the light comes on as soon as I start the car...i checked the codes with the Predator and they were all about Torque Converter electrical something, shift something intermittent short, i forget exactly but im hoping its nothing serious.

I think I had a blinking OD light a while back....but my symptoms were that the car would stall when coming to a stop....ended up being a short in the trans and they replaced the harness and some solonoids in the tranny.

I know exactly what the problem is as I have had the exact same issue... there is a sensor inside the transmission, that needs to be replaced. No Big issue. They put it up on the rack and drop the pan. Have RoyLpita Run an Oasis on mine and it will show up with the exact problem/ cause and repair.
I had the flashing O/D light during my first elimination round at Marauderville 5. That ended the day for me. Looking to purchase a new transmission.

Does that mean you won't be running at SSHS7???

I will not be racing my Marauder at SSHS7. It takes two weeks to get a transmission from BC automotive or Lentech. Then I need to have it installed and ready before November 3rd. The timing doesn't look good for this to happen before the big show.

Bummer. I'm disappointed, but there's no way I feel as bad about it as you do.

Update: I talked to Darrin @ BC automotive today and he should be able to have my new Stage 4 transmission shipped before the end of the month. I just might be driving my car to terrorize the masses.

Loose connection?
At the dipstick tube is a connector (actually 3) one to the o2 sensor, one to the tranny, and the third to... I forget, maybe it's for the tranny too?
On the tranny there are 2 or 3 connectors.
Try those first, I would suggest unplugging then re-plugging them. If you're lucky, that will take care of it.
