Today was a beautiful Florida morning, 69 degrees at dawn, low humidity. I had Smokie detailed by my number one detailer Elvis (yes it really is his name) who is always good; but today maybe because the weather was so nice he was superb.

I left the car wash with Smokie looking like a flawless diamond in the sun and quickly headed toward the Courtney Campbell Causeway toward Clearwater Beach. It started quickly with 2 bikini clad girls driving an Accord with an FSU license plate, they had the radio blaring until they pulled up next to me and nodded in approval and gave me the thumbs up, we pretented to race each other for a while.

On my way to the beach a young man stopped next to me and took the time to tell me what a beautiful car I had and from that point on it was simply amazing how many people either nodded in approval, gave thumbs up or actually pulled up even to comment or ask questions about the car.

The man outnumbered the woman about 8 to 1 (but the FSU girls I figured counted for at least 50 guys) all ages, boys as young as 8 stared at the car while mature ladies in a far more subtle way would smile and imperceptibly nod. Smokie today set and all time single day record for signs of approval and compliments, I think maybe one of the ladies that looked and smiled was interested in me... no, not really just wishful thinking on my part.

Anyway it was an amazing ride and it clearly shows that I... excuse me, I mean my car still has "it".http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/drive.gif:D

Same here Smokie, no one say's squat about my wife's S/B Grand Marquis, but the Twenty something's all want to buy the Marauder. "Hey Mister, sell me your car" they beg.

I treated Silverback to a wash & wax this afternoon and when the wife parked her GM next to the Marauder it was like night and day, the Marauder looks like "Man-o-War" standing next to Francis the talking mule.

The other Posse members at the Sheriff's sub station all know it's a MARAUDER, not just another Mercury. I don't think Corvette's are admired as much as this car.

Tomorrow is Sunday, I'm taking Silverback for a highway cruise to Natchitoches, about an hours south of home.

That's pronounced: Nack-ah-dish. It's Indian not Cajun.

Yep, I get a lot of looks, too. But not because it's a cool lookin' car...

It's a Clearwater thing. Everybody in Clearwater knows and respects the vaunted Marauder! Glad you had fun - call me next time.

Nice thread Javier. And just wait until years down the road. The Marauder will still be a car that is admired and adored.

I think as time goes along more and more people will find out about the car because of us on here. I was at a local sub shop earlier today getting some food and a few of the employees and customers came up to me while I was eating and asked me a bunch of question. I still love the reaction on people's faces when I pop the hood and they see the size of the motor "is that a 351???" No it's a 281 lol. Now I just have to get a supercharger to complete the full shock effect lol.

Even though I don't have a Marauder... Today, coming back from the Willow Grove Family Day Car Show, I was followed pretty close while going at a good clip on the highway. As we approached the next town, I eased off the speed. The following car proceeded to pass slowly with the male passenger eyeballing the car, pointing, smiling, & nods of approval.

At the car wash recently...Attendant says with confidence "that's a nice looking Marauder" I had to correct him about it not being a Marauder, but thanked him also for the compliment.

I was at a gas station filling up at 2am last night/this morning and some guy walks up and wants to know what kind of car I'm driving. I give him the low down and as I started to drive away, I notice he's standing outside waiting for me to start it up just to hear it run.
