how likely is it for me to be able to "peel out" or do a brake burn out. i see all these marauder that can do this here and on sites like youtube but i cannot for the life of me get my girl to do that on a normal road. not that i'm doing this every day actually i've only done it twice, well tried twice.. she's got about 65k on here now so any suggestions? i wana play with the big boys..

start simple... a tune,CAI, and underdrive pulleys

Just a tune and CAI should get you to squeal em, my brother got them to slide around from a punch on a dry road, and my car is stock.
Maybe if you beg alittle ;)

your stock Marauder was built with the EPA and Elena Ford in charge...heavy and computer controlled to prevent you from becoming a bad boy. If you want to make smoke you have to add power and method of getting it to the road and remove weight...however, abuse of poor stock Marauders by wannabees is frowned upon. My approach is good sound...as in exhaust and rapid controlled acceleration...up to the posted speed limit...for more fun go and get a Cobra Vic..only a few made, but made for racing..

Turn your traction control off. ;)

Get someone to show you how to do a burnout. Any teenager at the Mall lot after hours should do it.
I have done them in a stock 4.6 E150.

Why fool around with half way penny ante stuff? Just get a Trilogy and be done. You can burn the tires down to the rims on the first try if you want and you will run 12 second quarters out of the box.:burnout: and your car will run, sound and handle just like stock with a great tune till you want more right foot. If you have it, turn Traction Control OFF.
Put car in First.
Hold Brake.
Start applying Throttle.
Slowly let off Brake, just a little though...not all the way, and apply MORE Throttle.

It will still go into OD if you are in First?

I can spin my Stock 04 rear tires at will. It is trying not to that is the problem.

Anytime it's in 1st or 2nd the OD band is engaged from what I have read on here. If you can't do a burnout in Drive then you need more power lol.
Before 3500 stall and 4.10 gears, can't wait to see what happens after the 4.10 gears are installed.

trust me i know how to do a burn out.. lol the mustang does wonderful ones, but my poor marauder will not do it on a dry road. it either runts and lunges forward or if i let of the pedal more it flys forward.. no nice burn out. not that im trying to do this regularly i just find it odd that it will not do it when other marauders will.
i have payment in hand waiting on the twin screw whenever it becomes available so that is coming. i'm sure that will surely fix this problem. :-D
thanks for all the opinions ! i guess i'll just have to start modding but its a rare blue and hard for me to change anything. lol i'm torn between what i want and wanting to keep it original.

you could always take it all off. mines bone stock and will do a burn out as well.

I would have your car checked, bad COP, fuel relay or fuel filter or parking brake is locked up.

Slow = 4 letters. Blue = 4 letters. Coincidence?

Same argument could be made for Fast.

Try to do a burn out at 5000' or 6000' in a stock MM. It's tough. I wish I was close to sea level!

I just peeled out on a dry road the other night, half way through 1st gear, first time I actually "spooled up" the tc and actually heard my tires squeeling. Usually when I don't have traction off the line I never hear my tires, just feel it (stock bfg's are pretty quiet/soft).
Been alot harder to chirp them after adding 2 heavy alpine type Rs and a heavy a$$ ported box in the trunk...:mad2:
And given my car is bone stock, I was pretty impressed. The car never ceases to amaze me..

Just wait and buy the twin screw. Surprise yourself when you can't stop burning out.

I wouldn't say that. Their are a lot of other cars I would call awesome before I would call my own that. I would just say mine is very unique.

no your car is awesome
IMO its one of the nicest sounding N/A marauders ive heard ;)
shodude i hope your not giving it to much brake when you do a brake stand.
Find a nice quiet area, turn o/d and t/c off, and press the brake in lightly, then just mash the gas all the way in, if it wont spin then your car needs service ;)

Thank you very much and I don't even have a full exhaust yet, just 2nd set of cats removed, flowmaster super 40 mufflers and res-delete tips. LT headers and full 2.5" custom exhaust will be the spring time mod since I'll be installing 4.10s within the next month and then turn my attention to my 89 5.0.

My 03 dyno'd at 242 stock when brand new and would never spin on dry pavement. Put the winter tires on, on the other hand, and no problem to spin. Now, however, with 340 rwhp and it will spin the 305's, even when they are warm. WARNING: Extreme caution advised for Canadians on Nitto 305s. When it gets below 15C, be VERY careful. Cold, these tires are deadly!

Yours is an 04'. Much more power off the line

04's suppose to have a better stall speed to make it easier to climb the power band.

This thread makes me wonder whats up with my car. Yesterday I tried a hard launch and my Marauder didnt even as much squeal the tires. When it got a bit colder and I drove the car for a while, I was able to spin the rears but not really roast them.
Now my car sat for 2 weeks before I took it out, is it possible that it had to work itself back in so I got my power back or am I having a problem??
I plan on changing my PVC valve as well as a fuel filter very soon.
Either that or my Nittos are grabbing better then I thought?

I don't have any issues with spinning the tires. :D

At 40,000 miles on the clock, noticed that it had sucked in (upper intake) alot of oil from the PCV...
Cleaned the upper intake, installed a pre-filter and a oil/air separater to prevent it form happening again...
Made a noticable difference in how fast the engine spools up...Easier to spin the tires now...
Well worth the time IMO...

actually i was just out looking at my intake and its really dirty for 65k miles. guess i'll be cleaning that out.. its just odd that i've tried twice now in the same spot to even erk the tires. once it was easy.. erkk away they did so i figure i must have done something wrong before. the next time exact same spot nothing.. blue balls of burnouts.. lol
