View Full Version : My Nitrous Setup: *PICS*
I always said I wouldnt have Spray, but I caved.
It started with Raudermaster's kit and evolved, very quickly into this:

You are looking at a Stand Alone Fuel System for the NOS. This is vital to prevent a Lean Spike when the Gas first comes on. With big shots of gas, you will drain the fuel rails instantly and the A/F can go up above 18:1.
I started with a 1 gallon fuel cell with a rollover valve, a MSD Electric Fuel Pump, Earls Fuel filter (not installed yet) and -6 line all the way to the N2O solenoid. Just in front of the NOS solenoid is a pressure regulator that maintains 40psi.
There is a T fitting below the Fuel cell for fuel drainback.
I have dual bottle warmers, each on their own relay, and the fuel pump has its own relay as well.
The Cell will be filled with C-16 for additional safety.
I bought most of the stuff on ebay and got killer deals on it all.
This system might not come to life this year, but when it does, Id imagine it will be a lot of fun. :D

Is that a wet shot or a direct shot setup?
Looks nice, what car is this on?

Its a wet shot, and its on PROZACK, quite literally ;)

Ah ok
Looks sweet! When are you going to try it out?

If you read the post and didntjust focus on the pictures, you would answer your own question.

Very impressive setup. What times do you think it will run??

Based on your very neat (impressive) wiring and explanation, this fuel system comes on when the nitrous is triggered? How long do you anticipate 1 gallon will last? I assume this would be for racing only. Lastly, how will the additional fuel system stay 'primed'? Will you have to prime it before each race?

A man after my own heart... Very nice.
I side-stepped the leanout potential by purchasing a NOS dual-stage mini progressive controller so that all 300 doesn't try to hit at once. Ramp it up from 50 to 300 in 3-5 seconds and I avoid the potential of running the rails dry. (That and I went return-style with a MagnaFuel 4301 external pump)
I love a clean install.

Zack, I forgot to mention...
If you want to make sure your fuel to the solenoid stays charged before use, get a MagnaFuel MP-3110 Jet Adapter Fitting and mount it to the input side of your fuel solenoid. You then take a NOS type pill jet and make a -4AN return line back to your trunk tank. This allow you to bleed off any air in the system without reducing the pressure for the fuel at the solenoid. Just a tiny NOS jet so the air has somewhere to go before you floor it. You can purge nitrous but not fuel at the line!
These are the cat's meow!
John
Thanks John!
The fuel pump has a seperate switch, and its a return style setup, so until I actually use it and experiment, its hard to tell if air in the line will be a problem.
I dont think it will be, I did a little homework on all this before I set it up.
There is also a purge valve up front.

What you need to do is get out your box of crayons and draw us a pictures of how you have this plumbed. Do you have a separate fuel regulator up front for the nitrous system? What line gauges did you use? Etc...
I am curious, nothing more. :)
John
When it exits the trunk, -6 goes to the engine compartment to a FPR, then out to the ZEX solenoid.
This is the FPR:

All of the N2O lines are standard size shipped in the kit.

It looks like a "dead head" regulator, so where is the return line for the fuel? If there is no return line, then you should think about that fuel bleed adapter because yours has the potential for a lot of air in the line.
:)
John
The return is under the fuel cell, between the outlet and pump.

So the regulator has three ports then... I just asked because the picture only shows two.
John

No.
Since I went with a high psi pump, any air will be very compressed, not a big 'gap' of it.
And theoretically, once the system has the air out of it and the fuel cell doesnt go dry, no air will ever be re-introduced in the system.
