View Full Version : KB Track Results, Im pleased
I had a mild panic attack on the way to the track I was so nervous/excited.
Its been a long time since Ive been down the 1320.
Anyway, I ran the car 3 times to the best of 11.79 @ 115.4. 1.65 60'
The KB was overpowering the tires so I had to launch conservatively.
There was maybe a tenth left in it but I lost 2 ribs of the belt at the line and the tech saw it and sent me to the pits. My belt was stretchingn a little and I failed to move one of the idlers to pick up the slack.
I just left after that, but an 11.60 was a very good possibility.
The best part of it all....... I had pure 93 octane in the tank.. :D
From my past experience, race gas = about 2-5 tenths and 4mph.
Again, Im very happy

Congrats for those good times after all the recent "things" you had to go through. Some nice silver linings ... ;)

Very good times for a 93 octane tune, colder weather and Race gas look out

Same as always, 295/35/18 BFG G-Force Drag Radials.
BTW, it was 75 degrees out with a 20mph headwind.

Kind of ironic that was what you said you were able to achieve, with your first set-up, on stock internals.
Just be careful turning up the wick.

Yes, but that was with Race gas and 5-7 extra degrees of timing.
I NEVER went faster than a 12.4 on 93 octane with the Vortech

Zack: That's moving on pump gas.
Now that Jerry has the quickest car, I may have to switch to race gas myself.

Zack, wouldn't want to ask a stupid question about race gas, but the gain is with a matched tune and raised timing right ? Not just by pouring the stuff in the tank ?

Sounds like a lot of fun! Good job Zach.

My race gas tunes went like this:
put 100 in the tank, add timing via the global spark adder in the SCT program.
Thats it!
My car was never tuned on a dyno for race gas if thats what you were asking.

I'm so glad you hung in there, Zack. This setup is a dream. A KB Marauder!!!
11s completely undialed in on your first outing is totally amazing.
Lidio is using Alchohol INJECTION to turn up the boost on one of his kits. You could consider that if you want near race gas speed all the time on 93.;)

Could you link a few photos? I'm dying to see that bad boy sitting on top of your 4V
A nice burnout video would be cool, too :D
What is the theoretical best ET with a 115 trap speed?
BTW, 115? Holy Cow!!! That is FREIGHT TRAIN, man  Really booking for a car this size. Your 60 ft time is really looking good, too.

Pics are in my gallery.
The car went 11.62 YEARS ago with a Vortech on it and a stock motor.
My best 60' was 1.60 with the Vortech
