I walked outside today and looked at my bumper saggin even more than before and got fed-up....so I walked around Home Depot for an hour and this is what I came up with.......
Start with a 1/8inch thick X 1/2inch wide X 22inch long steel flatbar
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/8/7/3/DSCN0522.JPG
Next Put some "Super Heavy Duty" 3M double sided mounting tape on one side of the bar
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/8/7/3/DSCN0528.JPG
Next Peel off the tape backing and set it tape side down on the inside of the bumper.......and squeeze together...holding it together for a while to make sure it's stuck.......be sure every thing is clean
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/8/7/3/DSCN0530.JPG
Before.........
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/8/7/3/DSCN0524.JPG
After........

Gap between Progaurd and Bumper before........

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/8/7/3/DSCN0527.JPG
Gap between Progaurd and bumper after.....(or should I say lack of)....
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/8/7/3/DSCN0533.JPG
My bumper is straight as an arrow now....
Flatbar...$3.88
3M Tape...$3.97
Dremel bit set I had no intention of buying...$29.97
No more saggy bumper.....Priceless!!!
I will have to put some miles on it to see if it's a true fix...but right now I couldn't be any happier with the outcome!!!:)

I thought the pro-guard was supposed to keep this from happening, or stop it? And my sag is beginning to annoy me now too.
This is how I fixed mine...

If you already have a sag to your bumper, the Progaurd is useless
Progaurd is more of a preventive measure to use before the sag starts
Just my opinion.

are the mounting points for the MM different from the CV's? why would you need to cut a new hole in the cover for the zip tie?

I took a plain piece of aluminum flat bar (3/4 inch by 1/8 inch) and installed it from inner bumper edge (hole bored) to the center metal support. I used stainless steel bolts on both ends and created an elongated hole on the upper end so I can adjust to get the bumper straight. the only fear I have is that this new center support has no give like the OEM side supports so any small bump from the back could be a problem. I'd rather use a piece of hard rubber that has some give - still looking.

It wasn't sagging, thought I was going to need the hitch for something else. But now I am confident I will never experience the heartbreak of Marauder Bumper Sag.

So whats the easiest way to cut that slice for the opening? Just take a shank and start shanking away?

this was how i fixed mine.
now, are the mounting points different, or not? seems pointless to cut an unnecessary hole if you have two.

There are no factory tabs on the MM bumpers, hence why the need for the hole or slot some have mentioned.

I like that strap idea better.
I'm leery of a metal piece held onto a flexing plastic surface by tape, especially with the high amount of water & flapping that area is going to see. If it flies out on the freeway and goes through somebody's windshield, you would be liable.
