A couple of months ago I bought mine with 80,000, I could'nt be happier. If you want one, I would'nt let that alone stop you. Good luck.

Just buy it. No need to worry about the miles.

As long as you have copies of the maintenance records you'll be fine.

These cars are tuff as nails. Buy it!!!

Depending on condition, YES! $13,500 sounds like a decent price.

Go for it, start at a lower price though and work your way up.

It couldn't hurt to see what Ford replaced under warranty and get a Carfax if you are very serious.

We bought Phoebe in May with 85,xxx. Of course, we knew the owner and that the car was well-maintained.

Hey Big Will,

I bought my 300A in June with 99,975 on it's dial. She's a southern bell, and I got it for $10,500 :banana2: I love it!!!

Now, having said that, I think there is something you should be careful of: BLUE START SYNDROME. Mine's gotten worse over the last 11K miles I've driven it - I don't think the car was driven by the previous owner the way I drive it :D

Going hand in hand with this issue is the famous tapping, ticking issue from the driver's side head. In the last week this has 'kicked up a notch', sounding noticeably louder than before...

Anyway, my point is, I don't know about other Marauders, but I know the 300A had at least this one serious issue, and it's nothing to sneeze at, unless you like replacing cylinder heads on an electronically fuel injected, DOHC engine.

IF THE CAR WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY FOR THIS, then you should be all set. It was a 'silent recall'.

I regret I didn't know about this problem before. I'm nervous flooring it, now, wondering if I'm going to drop a valve, or something... However, that said, I'm not certain I would have done anything differently. I couldn't spend more money at the time, and I wanted a Marauder very badly.:coolman:

Maybe it's a good excuse for a nice upgrade to ported, large valve heads? ;)

Another option - since it's out of warranty, you could get another one? If not Ford, Warrantydirect was willing to sell me a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty for about $900, that would cover engine repair up to $3300. It's not a perfect risk/reward scenario, but they give you complete control over the repair, and won't deny you if your car has been modded. I haven't done it, but would consider it if I had the $900 as a little safety net.

Anyway, just wanted to warn you.

I think I have the most miles on the clock here 233,000+ and I still drive her anywhere. 2 weeks ago a friend of mine and I took her on a 1000+ mile trip to deliver a pup.(and shop) That was at least 80mph on the highway and I dont drive like grandma.(and I still got 24 mpg round trip) I'm the "coolest" mom at school(thanks to my cars), all the boys want to ride with me for fieldtrips:lol: Good Luck!! you never look back and wish you had left her for someone else:)

I had ~89K when I purchased mine on 14 Feb of this year. I'm currently at 106K+ and I'm enjoying the hell out of my ride.

I'm about twice the miles you're looking at, with no problems. I do tend to baby the car a bit though. Why just the other night at the strip traction was poor early. I think I may have lifted prior to banging off the rev limiter. I did show some folks how to do 2 gear burnouts in the box though.

There's a sweet one on e-bay right now with only 26k miles for a few dollars more....something to think about.

It was not a silent recall, it was a TSB. Mach 1 and Cobra owners have experienced this as well and I don't think anyone has proven that it is a sign of problems to come, but then the flip side is that it's not exactly a normal issue.
