...so I wont be hanging myself afterall!! Alright, heads up everyone, as I see this being a potential problem on every Marauder. The squeak is audible inside the car, but is caused outside the car. As you might or might not know, there is a factory type sound dampener toward the base of the firewall extending to the rear of the transmission. It is one piece fastened I believe in three different places but the center mounting bracket is the problem. This bracket is found in the center of the 'tunnel' right above the front of the trans. There is a stud pointing downward through this bracket. The head of the stud is either welded to the floorboard or starts inside the car, thus the noise transfer. Anyway, there is NO BOLT SECURING THIS BRACKET TO THE FLOORBOARD. The sound dampener and bracket are free to move around when you hit a bump, or rev the engine because the wiring harness touches both the trans and the dampener. There is no gap between the two. So this bracket is rubbing against the stud, causing a squeak that makes you want to hang yourself, like I said before. It is a very cramped space getting to the stud, so I temporarily fixed it by sliding a piece of thin plastic tubing over the stud, preventing any further contact. The dealer will be securing it properly on Monday. I hope this is of help to some, and others in the future. All this and I cant type.
