Im a noob, but some info about the car I drive. It’s a 98 <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>pontiac</st1:place></st1:City> grand prix gtp. Its midly modified, mainly bolt-ons to support going to a smaller pulley. A quick run-down of my mod list:
3.3”Pulley
Custom PCM
4”Fenderwell Intake w/9” Cone Filter
Alky-Injection
1.9 Stock modified rockers
Headers
2.5” Exhaust piping
Piggy-back fuel management controller
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Ran against a 03/04 marauder at cecil <st1:place><st1:PlaceType>county</st1:PlaceType> <st1:PlaceName>dragway</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>. I did not talk to the driver, but from the exterior the only thing I noticed was that it had 18” rims.

good and close race if you ask me, seems the 4.6 DOHC(?) has top-end and my car doesn’t lol. Just curious on what you guys think was done to the marauder to get it into the 13s? I read around google and stock only run low 15s and trap no higher than 100mph. all in all it surprised me when he was gradually passing me after the 1000” mark:burnout:.

Had 18" rims eh? No kiddin, that's what all MM's have! lol 13's eh? Probably a good bolt on'd MM is my guess, or possibly even a juiced/blown one. And yes, our DOHC's love high revving and that's where they work their charm.

thanks for the reply Raudermaster:) i didnt know they came stock with 18s:). i wish i would of asked the driver whether it was either FI(blower stead of CSC?) or sprayed since i left after that run. that was my 6th pass for the night and all within 90minutes so i was somewhat hot-lapping:flamer:. did a few more digging around and ppl managed to get theirs chipped/intake/exhaust/larger TB and got mid to low 14s but still under 100mph(looked thru cardomain sites). wished my car was RWD:mad2:. good race nonetheless.

Lots of boltons and N/A will get in the mid-13's. Mild S/C with no other mods will get there too.

I agree. Lots of bolt-ons, including torque converter, gears, headers and several more will get you to mid 13s. But the trap speed is a bit suspicious...

If he had cams and headwork done, too, then it looks right, but then I would think he may be running even low 13s.

So, I'm thinking he had one bolt on only: a mild S/C, or a 100 shot of nitrous.

It's obvious it has a Trilogy blower.:D

From someone who claimed they wanted one (Trilogy).
Which side of your pie hole are you blowing from? :P

Hey good run. I just sold my GTP, it ran 13.97 with just 3.4 pulley, removed resonator, DHP 1.0, and CAI. I missed the RWD though, so..... LOL

Mine has nothing nut the base Trilogy kit and I ran 1 run with a 13.6 at 103. no other mods at the time. Bone stock exhaust throttle bdoy and gears the way they came from the factory. But i was really spinning off the line, had to back peddle to where I could hook up. Man I love this Trilogy.

My corrected time for my car was 13.6@101mph so its may be possible that the car he raced was in fact N/A.
I raced a GTP and they loose steam around the 75mph mark.
