Good morning all!
I just joined and look forward to sharing experiences and learning from everyone out there. I do not own a Marauder currently, but hope to remedy that in the future. I do however own a 2005 Crown Vic Sport, a 2002 Crown Vic LX with touring and handling suspension, and a couple of Mustangs. I am actually trying to sell one of the Mustangs. Thanks for having this great club to allow for the appreciation of one of the greatest cars ever produced both past and present by Mercury. *statements made are opinion only, and you may not feel that way, but you have been wrong before, right?:D

New MM owner here...bought mine yesterday! I'm parts mgr at my local Ford dealer and this lil black one came in on trade and I had to have it. HVBOM says its a 300B...I have RDS and a hood light. Tires are black, seats are rare leather from Yugoslovian virgin Llamas, and it IS the ultra rare police interceptor version I know this from the dot matrix windshield.
OK some of that is BS hope some of you have a sense of humor, this site is very informative and thanks for letting me onboard.

Hey everyone, glad to finally join the group. Got a stock 03 with 27043 on it. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place! Too nice to drive and to nice to let sit!.. Bought it new. I have a SHO.. 85 mustang lx 347/485 and a 90 Festiva with a B6T engine, so it so it doesn't hurt as much to let it sit. I'm retired and have some time on my hands. Have been researching for a supercharger system to install on the merc. Does anyone have personnel knowledge as to which one would work out the best? Your imput would be appriciated.. Hello!
My name is Kevin, I drive a 2003 Crown Victoria. It is j modded, has kooks headers to two and a half inch piping with and open H pipe and straight through magnaflows. The plenum is ported and polished with a 70mm bbk tb, and a Mercury Marauder air box and 80mm maf. It runs beautifully on a Blue Oval Chips brain. Has addco sway bars, which are a great bang for the buck.
I also have all for a 3.73 rebuild, waiting for spring to come. I have a couple friends in the city, Winnipeg, MB, Canada, and a few with crown vics.
Last summer, first summer drag racing, i was running mid fourteens on 255/50/16 bfg g-force sports. amazing tires, of course some mickeys will do me better on the strip, but all around good tires, a very good purchase.
I also drive a 1972 Mercury Cougar with a 351Cleavland that my baba bought in 1972.
I am on the crownvic forum more often, glad to spend some time here for first time. nice cars.

Hey there. Welcome to the circus here!! Boy, you just missed out on the last of the Trilogy supercharger kit hat was designed specifically for our cars. You can always do the Eaton swap which is basically using some parts off the 03-04 Cobra and other related parts and building your own kit. I am sure others know of where to get a centri blower for our cars too. Post up what your looking for in the Power adder section and im sure youll get lots of replys.

A great way to find out things we do not know about and a great way to offer help about things we do.
And it is fun too.

Welcome! Sounds like a nice find. 10K less than my 04 that has not been driven that much since 08 when gas went knuts the 1st time.
I just got a 2003 Silver Marauder from the original owner (74,111). I am new to Ford muscle, I have some Mopar vehicles: 70 Cuda, 70 Baracuda Gran coupe, 67 Plymouth Convertible, 69 Fury VIP, and a reworked 87 5th Ave. The car came with worn out tires and I can't find any of the OEM tires. Have you guys found a workable solution to getting at least the same performance out of other tires or better? I would prefer to benefit from your knowledge and jump in on 20 inch wheels so I have options in the future. I know from the 2011 Challenger that came with 245/45/20's and the 235/55/18's for winter I put on the speedo runs true, so the 245/45/20's should work on back. So is it best to go 245/40/20's up front or 245/45/20's all the way around? Does any one make much stiffer springs and twin tube hydraulic shocks with much more dampening ability than stock for this car?
After driving the big merc and reading reviews on the tires it seems possible the flaws in the tires make some of the fun of the car possible, just my humble opinion. Any easy upgrade info would be appreciated, I can provide Mopar info in return.

Welcome to the modness!! And congrats on your new ride!!
Yes, pics would be awesome.
Read the tire forum. Opinions are just that. One thing for sure, get the carfixers alignment setting or front tires will wear prematurely on the inside. Boink your alignment guy in the head if he says he can't do it. If you are going with 20's let me be the first to say $8.00 for the stock wheels :D
And if you want a full dose of the marauder family come to Atlanta in september:beer:

There's something wrong with that Silver MM. Check alignment per ^^^^^. I'm at 93,000 and on my 3rd set of fronts and 5th set of rears. Pressures at 35 psi front and 38 psi rear. If you have traction control, rears must be 3-6% taller than fronts. Get a performance tire with stiff sidewalls. Several choices.

Well after a year of looking almost everyday I finally found a Marauder. I just picked a 2003 Blue with 37k on her. Took it today to get inspected and not a thing wrong. Can't wait to take a road trip or two in this baby.

Welcome to MM.net.
If you can come out to Carlisle All Ford Natl this weekend. Otherwise keep your eyes on the NJ/NY or CAM boards as we do get together frequently.
We have a meet in NH this Aug 1-4 if you can make it. Love to have another Blue. :)

Welcome to the site Jermaine!! My geography isn't too good but, if you're not too far away, there's several dozen Marauders massed in Atlanta right now (Marauderville!!). If you want to speed up that desire to get 1, go see a whole bunch together

Welcome to crazy town. If you are looking for a Marauder as a DD. I would advise against it. As parts are hard to find and some are non existent. If you get into an accident. Many Marauders have simply been totaled by the insurance company's due to rear bumpers not available and front bumpers being scarce and rims no longer available too.
But they are sure fun. :)

Another DFW MM owner-possibly... hey if you looking for one, I know a guy got a black one for sale, I'm sure he will give you a good deal. I just finished leaving him a PM about it, not for you a guy lives down my street tried to buy mine.".HELL NO!!! but I know someone got one for sale". Plus he want to go for a ride in mine to see how it runs with an Eaton on it. Anyway, forget that non-DD stuff, if you want one get one ,you can find used parts if you look. I DD mine, its supercharged and its my 2nd one after totaling my first. Some of the guys think they will be collector cars because of the limited number made. I don't think so, and if so by that time I'd be too damn old to care. The '60's cars aren't big collector cars so I don't think these will be either so I drive mine as needed, not saving it. Welcome and contact me if you got a question. Look at my signature and you will see I have a 'Stang also.

As far as the daily driver stuff goes, this is going to be my DD. Is there any reason other than scarcity of parts in the event of an accident, that some guys wouldn't want to use it as a DD?

Hello all. I'm a new member and am hoping to be an owner by the end of next month. Seriously considering a black 2003 300A with 62k miles for 11.5k. Guy let me test drive it and encouraged me to punch the pedal a few times. I don't think there's any goin back for me. I'll be postin some noob like questions in some of the forums, especially pertainin to the gear ratios and tunes that go along with them. I know a bit about that stuff, but this car has had some peculiar changes made to it. Hope to gain some good insight from you guys. Glad to be here!

The owner put 3.27 gears in the rear end and it hasn't been tuned for it. He also has 255s as the rear tire size, which is an option many people use, but I don't think it's been tuned for that either. He has 4.10 gears that haven't been installed, so I'm seriously considerin just poppin those in there and not even worryin about tuning for the 3.27s.
Thanks for the welcome!

Well, no S/C here, but it's here in Palmetto, FL. Owner lives in Spartanburg, SC but he agreed to leave it down here at his winter home so the purchase will be easier for me. It hasn't been tuned for it so it's pretty lackluster in the "wow" department. Used to have 4.10s, he had 3.27 installed.

Put the gears in and get tuned by Mo's Speedshop in Atlanta. You won't be disappointed. It will be a different car.

I've only noticed a few issues, the LCM relay is acting up as I've had to "help" the headlights come on once with the blinker stick, and the AC blows out of the defroster vents for the first 5 minutes then act normal. Otherwise she drives great!

Hello everybody, first post here checking in from Germany Europe. My name is Marvin and some might already know me from the Crownvic.net forums, I have seen a lot of familiar user names already. I will be taking ownership of a 2003 300A with 86k miles next week, it's bone stock apart from an LPG conversion that was carried out upon import to save money on local fuel ($2.50/gal for LPG vs $6.50/gal regular) I am the third owner of the car in Germany, it originally was imported from Ohio in 2009 and it is unknown how many previous American owners it had. I will post a proper thread in the welcome section once I have the car on my driveway next week but for now I will leave this picture here.

Where's your left exhaust tip, or is it just the angle of the picture?
And what's with the "3.88 gears"?

Hi everyone. New member from Long Island, NY here. Just picked up my 03 black #2824 of 7838 new baby. Was posted in the for sale section. Thanks MM.net ! Got it from a guy in CT. Came with a brand new Ford crate motor and $6000 worth of receipts in the glove box. Winning !!! Car flies like the wind and rides like new. I can't stop smiling. looking forward to modding the hell out of it.
I drove that car and tried to buy it last fall. It drove better than mine, at that time. That engine was so quiet and smooth, and the exhaust sound perfect. It burned the tires from a stand still and cornered / stopped great.
It made me put new front coil springs and brakes on my car right after driving his.
Nice car, enjoy the upgrades - it is addictive!

Thanks for the welcome!
Don't worry the left exhaust tip is present, I guess it's the angle or maybe the view is blocked by the rear facing fog light that had to be wired in underneath the bumper. This is required by law just like the red reflectors on the bumper but I hate the look of it so I might be trying to rewire it into the left tail or reverse light housings.
The 3.88 rear diff gears were put it by the previous owner, I believe 3.55 is stock if I remember correctly.

I saw your write up in his for sale post. I thought that it was too good to be true. When I first saw the car I was pleasantly surprised. Then when I test drove it I had a hard time keeping my poker face on. I wanted to smile from ear to ear, which is not good for the negotiating process. Considering what I paid, the car is awesome.

This was exactly my problem as well, I just couldn't stop myself from smiling when I test drove it so I had no chance of going into any form of negotiation at all. I managed to talk him down by $250 off the asking price but that was it. At $12k I probably overpaid but importing a similar Marauder from the US would have ran me about the same costs, let alone all the hassle that's involved in the importing process.

Hi Everyone,
Just picked mine up from Detroit last weekend... You can imagine the pins and needles I went through driving in that bad storm to get there (had 34ft. trailer) The weatherman said the storm was due Monday, it showed its ugly face early! So I loaded it up, had top drive through tons of salt to get back home,,,but its here! I have owned many old cars and a newer Shelby (2008) but I have always been attracted to the Marauder, I don't know, guess I move the beat of a different drum and don't like to drive cars that everyone else have.. I refuse to own a "Beemer" I have eaten a few for Breakfast on the Autobahn in Germany :-) guess those guys never heard of a Shelby, they do now! Wish I could run the Marauder there!
I am in South Carolina now so the car has a nice salt free home! The gentleman said this car was originally owned by a Washington Redskins player, not sure how true that is, he said the player is a personal friend of his.. I am not so concerned about that, I just love the car!
Cheers!

Hey what's up fellow Marauder owners. I Have a 03 blk MM. Owned for a little over a year. Recently ran into the previous owner (Drew) at parking lot. It was a pleasure meeting him. I wanted to meet the person that put so much work into the car.. with understandable reasons to let it go. I haven't done much to it as of yet besides adding jlt cia along with tune. I'll be posting now and then asking noobie questions so bare with me. Anyone in Maryland? Let's link up!

New member who just picked up my first Marauder about a month ago; due to cold weather, snow, etc. just now getting to enjoy the ride. Bought an 03' to take to Cruise In and Car Shows; have had a lot of "potential" buyers already who want to make me a sweet offer, but no thanks. Liking my ride a lot; needs to be cleaned up a little more, but wanted a Marauder for a long time and traded an Audi TT for this. Thanks for the welcome! This was a 60th b-day gift to myself.

Thanks for the thought. I'm no longer up to fighting off Bubba in the hotel with the window bars if it went sour.
I did recommend not going the restraining order route she wanted. That's intended for sane to semi-sane people. That would likely send him over the razors edge he's on. We're hoping she can quitely get out of town. I'm going to have to pay someone to look after her until then because my long road trip days are over and I'd hoped to avoid getting groped and strip searched at the airport ever again. Lots of extra metal parts.
I do like the car. I'd looked at them when they were new, but my local dealer was marking them up 10k over sticker. I just can't see paying extra for the hype. Now that they've calmed down quite a bit, I believe I got a good deal on a gentlemen's cruiser. It's comfortable to drive too.
P.S. I sure hope she picks a good guy this next time around and stops the "bad boy" excitement thing. At 35, it's time to get a grip.

I'd call the local P.D. or Sheriff's Department so they can have officers there with you. Maybe she has some friends that can be there too?

How's it going everyone? At work and figured I might as well introduce myself while I poke around for info. Bought my DTR Marauder with 150k miles last week as a daily driver to relieve my project car of that duty. It's a little rough on the exterior: paint chips, couple of mini dents, a low spot on the rear bumper. But it's everything I was looking for and then some: 4 doors, rwd, v8, comfy, with working a/c. Saw it listed on craigslist for a pretty good price and jumped on it.
Just topped off the fluids today, but aiming to change at least the engine oil when I get the chance. Is a trans flush doable in one's driveway, and if not, is it absolutely necessary? Haha, I was hoping to do all the maintenance and repairs myself as much as possible. Also, are there any other major things I should replace given the amount of miles on this car?
Thanks in advance and look forward to meeting other members.

You can change the trans fluid but not the fluid intq converter in the drive.its a little messy, recommend changing to a pan with drain plug, typically called a uhaul pan or putting a drain kit into the stock pan while doing it. I would recommend changing all fluids, rear, oil, coolant..There is specific procedure to "burp" the cooling system of air whenever it opened. which can be found here http://reischeperformance.com/refill.html. air in the system will cause overheating. I would change the belt too. check brake condition etc..Suspension componets can be wearing out, mostly bushings and shocks.

Thanks for the info! That's a great link. Looks like I'll be busy for a while. Interesting that the pan didn't come with a drain plug, but it's a cheap fix anyway.

Hello, sounds like our deal. :D We bought one with with higher mileage only because it was in our price range for a daily driver, the rarity that it will probably never be worth less than we paid for it and the darn thing is down right comfy and drives like a sports car. A real "little-ol'-lady" had bought it new, had all the extensive service records from being serviced exclusively at Ford, never been hotrodded and looks like it has 60k on it.
For laughs: I have a truck that one of our cats won't let me take out of the garage. This cat is so obsessed with this truck that she guards it with her life. Craziest thing I've ever seen. So, it stays covered with moving blankets to satisfy her mental thing going on---hence the need for a daily driver.
Already spoke with Mo---comes across like a great guy with great info.
I'll be following the same path your on to get more familiar with this particular car. Already got some real good information on this site like changing the oil pressure guage out for the Autometer #4327. Picked a brand new one up on Ebay for $53.74 shipped. Best of luck with yours.

I had to Google what the problem was with the stock oil pressure gauge, and it looks like they are indeed "fake" haha. Thanks for the heads up. I kinda figured as much, but it's not a priority fix at the moment, although accurate readings would be nice.
The a/c on mine just went out actually, and I've got a misfire on cylinder 8, and vibration in the brake pedal, so it looks like new hoses, spark plugs, and rotors are in need. I really wanna get a factory service manual soon though so I'm not poking around in the dark, so to speak.
Edit: the cruise control stopped working too, so that's another thing that needs fixing. This thing's keeping me busy, haha.

Take the Marauder as it's well suited for long trips. Best way to get acquainted with her.
Welcome to the site!
I'm a little late responding, but I have an update.
I didn't enter her life until she was almost 16. If anyone met her father they would understand why the poor kid is so screwed up. Her character was already set in stone and she hasn't changed a lick 20 years later even after 4 kids. So, now she has dumped this abusive ex-con and gone back to the previous loser. The one who pushed her down three flights of stairs when she was 8 1/2 months pregnant with his trophy kid because he didn't want to pay child support and beat the crap out her for five more years.
I wish I could change this somehow. I feel anger, sadness and powerlessness all at the same time. She could have had so much going for her. We certainly have tried our best to change things.:depress:
I did drive up to Cleveland 15 years ago to look for the very first loser, another one that beat her up and threw her out into a busy highway when she was 9 months pregnant with his trophy kid---kid number one. Luckily, he hid well and I couldn't find him. I brought her back to Florida and we were starting to get things turned around. Out of the blue, three years later, she gets a title loan on her paid for car and sends loser number two money to come to Florida to grace her life with his presence. The crap started all over again and has been nonstop ever since.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Hello,
Drove my car out of the Showroom early in 2004 here on Merritt Island, Florida. The people at the Ford Performance Group told me that my car was the 26th car built that year. DTR/Flint.
Looking for the Console Door Assembly in Flint: Part#: XF3Z5406024AAN
Your bumper is starting to sag, just a heads-up.
Hi, I just purchased a 2003 Marauder, black on black. It has 56K miles on it and it is just beautiful. I have owned Marauders from the 1960s, so this is the newest Marauder I've owned. :D

Thanks for the welcome!!! I know little about the 03 Marauders other than I love it! LOL I was told by the previous owner that it was an early production. It has a 1" lower suspension, louder exhaust, and K/N air filter.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I've been looking at both stock and modded. Just unsure which route I want to go. I've purchased modded cars that worked and also modded cars that turned out to be headaches....
There's a stock 300a nearby listed at 15,999 with about 25k on the clock. Looking to mod thereafter. I'm looking to spend under 25 grand.
There's also one on auto trader that I've looked at that's modded and assumingly modded properly.

I have one of the Trilogy kits on mine, does the job fine...only 250 of them made..I don't daily drive mine. Most good engine mods rely on a good tune, especially with a blower...Boosted cars are fun. Trilogy no longer makes them for these cars and there is not really any off the shelf blower kits for them..There is a Centri blower kit thru ADTR.net or it s piece a blower together called an Eaton swap which involves hunting parts thru various online sources. I wonder if that trilogy car has any other mods...rear control arms, sway bars, bigger brakes, trans mods etc..they all sort of go hand in hand. They can be added, but it adds up $$

yeah, I have been looking into the adtr kit as well. The car on auto trader says it has a 5.0 stroker block, built transmission and rear end. not sure what else. Googling the VIN says that it may be the car of a member here named Davey Johnson. Looking at his threads makes me think it may be a good car, I'll message him for more info when I'm closer to my buy date.

Hi All! I joined up as I am currently in the market for a Marauder and figured that this would be a great place to start to expand my knowledge a bit, find out the things I should be looking for and get some ideas for when I do make the purchase. Any help or guidance you have to offer is most appreciated.

Hi gang - I finally bought a Marauder after lusting after them since they came out. Military service overseas (and military pay) prevented me from getting a new one, so now that I have retired from the Army, I found a 125K mile copy in reasonably good shape for a reasonable price and you know the rest of the story.
Its no garage queen, and as such, I plan to have fun with it. Hopefully down the road, I will have the opportunity to supercharge it and realize it's full potential.

This is an awesome forum I have referenced and followed for years but never joined because I did not own a marauder. Today things have changed and I am now the proud owner of a Black 2004 MM that has everything but a spoiler and trunk organizer. Which I hope to soon acquire with the help of my new fellow members.
I have been a ford enthusiast long before I could drive and I have previously owned a variety of ford, mercury, and lincoln vehicles before getting this fantastic ride.

Hello Forum,
I'm a virginal newbie to these forums. Like kwkbox I'm a brand-new owner of an old but great car. This is Keith from the Houston area. I was all over these forums during the shopping process, and now that I'm part of the fraternity I look forward to getting to know everyone as an official member. I already have a testimonial: I answered probably 25 big questions that I had when buying, simply by reading the message strings found here. And, in my First Day as a MM owner I have discovered a bent rim. The Forum threads have already saved me from buying the wrong Mustang rim to save $10 and creating a new project for myself. This site is essential for the Marauder Guy, and I'm now proud to be one of y'all. I own a bone-stock DTR 2004 with sunroof, spoiler, 6-CD changer, and part of a Trunk Organizer - gotta make a new lid. Looking eventually to do a few upgrades but first trying to get the car where I trust it and know all its secrets. I'm an old hot-rodder with lots of Detroit Iron in my past, and want to get back to good old Ford Power. Glad to be here folks.

Hey all, I'm from Chicago. Patiently waiting for a black '04 with a moonroof to come along. Most of the stuff in my price range here is overpriced rusty junk. For now I'm driving a black 08 P71 with the street appearance package. Lots of information on this site!

New member here, always owned jeeps (still do), don't know much about the panther platform other than I like 'em. Haven't been able to find a Marauder in my price range so I picked up an all stock '04 MGM LS in July from the original owner. It has 80,000 miles on it. Since the price was right I figured I could wrench on it and drive it for a while, see if I can enjoy driving something other than a jeep. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for the experts here.

Hi, everyone. Recently acquired a 2003 marauder with a trilogy kit. Needs some serious cleaning, but otherwise is okay. Took it out last night and it drives great. Figured it made sense to join because I've been looking on here for information since adding it to my collection. Still working on production #s for the car and trilogy kit.

I guess I should have introduced myself here. My name is Stanford Logan (Logan86, born in 1986).
I've wanted a Marauder since I was in high school. I remember seeing an article in one of my dad's car magazines and thinking they were bad to the bone. Kind of FoMoCo's answer to the Impala SS, which I loved as well. Thanks to this forum I am picking up Joe Walsh's 03 Black MM tomorrow. I'm going to try to leave it alone aside from a tune to get it adjusted to the Texas weather and fuel. I'm sure that won't last long though since I am a bit of a gearhead. This forum seems to be a wealth of knowledge so I'll be here cutting my teeth for the foreseeable future.
