:coolman: You thought this was going to be dirty didn't you...

I just bought a set of four jack stands to put my car up for the winter. For those of you that store your vehicles off of the ground, do you place the jack stands at the jacking points on the frame or do you place them under the axles? Thanks for the help.

I place 1 jackstand at each of the 4 Triangles.

Make sure you turn the Air Ride off.

I wanted the dirty part!;) I put mine on rollers. I have had 4 cars in my 3+ car and still had room to walk around.

One person can spin the car around and get it up in a corner. works like a charm:D. Cost like $150 to $200.

I've been thinking about getting a car lift for my Garage.

They sell them locally. Good ones.

$2800 Canadian or about $3000 US.

What is the purpose of putting the car on jack stands???

Tires are fairly durable and have worked well for many years during Winter!!

Maybe I'm missing something??:shake:

After the vehicle sits in one place for nearly six months the tires actually become "square" so to speak and needs to be driven for about fifty miles or so until the tire vibration is eliminated.

If you use jackstands and plan on leaving a car up for a real long time (a year or so) put it under the axles. Cars can "stretch" and youll notice it when you try to open your doors.

I say leave it on the tires, thats the way all the parts were designed to be.

If it's just for a winter it should not affect the tires.

Exactly.

Mine sits every Dec-March. I just park it on 4 small pieces of plywood, one under each tire.

Which reminds me, almost time to change the sig again. :(
