If the factory underhood light connector C1315 is on the '04 MM's? The 2004 wiring manual says it's there but I can't find it.

Check with Carfixer, he installed an underhood light in his '04 DTR

fastblackmerc...
I have both an '03 and an '04. I believe that they changed the wiring harness for the twin knock sensors as well as the under hood light (delete) changes for '04. If you learn more, pls post.
Carfixer canabilized an '03 and 'fixed' his '04 DTR MM to have a hood light, but I'm not sure how he wired up the hood-mounted connector to the main wiring harness under the hood.

Look at this attachment from the factory manual for location of C1315.

For cars that don't have the underhood light factory installed the connector may be taped over or buried under something else.

I could never find the connector, so I ran an unswitched wire to a mercury switch, then to my LED lights.
