After a practice run FordNut came over to ask how I did. I said spun out. He says you missed the waterbox. I said I couldn't find it. FordNut says turn your side mirrors down to your tires.

I see Glenn in the staging lanes talking about his runs. I ask to see his time slips and advise with that trap speed you can run a 12.01. Your 60' is 2 tenths off drop the tire pressure to 16lbs. Glen runs 11.96 and tells me you were right!

I see MaginDat in the run all day and ask why. He says he hasn't raced the S/C yet and will lose. I say no you won't. Show me your time slips. I ask some questions and say your car is set up like mine. I am going to put your dial in at 12.5 and class C which I do w/ my Geddex marker. I then advise how to do a burn out and keep it sraight down the track. MaginDat then races and wins! MaginDat says look what your coaching did and tells me something about burning out in reverse. I say let me see your slip, you won that's all that matters. (Make mental note to try a reverse burn out at test-n-tune)

In the pitts I remembered my blowby was rubbing on the crank when the dealer changed the serpentine belt. I pop the hood and realize all the good tools are in the hotel. Dennis R hears and says theres one in my back seat. 1 minute latter and it's fixed.

In the pitts I see all rearends up and elbows under the hood of a silver Marauder,it's MarauderTJA. I watch and then ask whats going on. Broken tensioner and the one we have to replace won't fit. Do you know where a grinder is. I say ask Zack, he drove his down and is not racing. Next thing I know Zack is walking towards TJA w/ his belt tensioner off his car in his hand. We then need a washer. TJA and I walk over to a trailer selling suspension parts and they give us a washer.

A man with a Marauder who knows TJA anounces he has run a low 12 but has traction isssues. I ask to see his slip. I suggest he put his side mirrors down, put it in 2nd gear, burnout until white smoke fills each fender well, preload susp and hit it. He comes back and announces he ran an 11.8.

A man in the pitts is halking for race gas. I say how much you need, he says my tank needs to be 3/4 full or all the gas runs out the basket. The fuel shack is closed. I sell him 3 gallons.

The Corinthian spirit is alive and well in the MercuryMarauder.Net community.:D

(ps If anything above is inaccurate or you would prefer not to be identifed just send me a pm and I will edit.)

Yes, you were right the tire pressure drop did help with the DRs. Thanks again for the advise.

You are correct in your posts. This is the way it went all day with people helping people around the DR camp. It was nice to see that happen. I am sure the same thing was going on in the other camps also. I know it was also going on in the staging lanes with not only the Marauder guys but with the Chevy guys. Plenty of help and info was changing hands. This is the way it should be. Makes you kind of proud to be at the event!

Rich, you gotta teach me that Type "R" burnout technique! Hopefully in the next year or two kadiddlebabe and I can attend the SSHS.

I can't really help you guys much with mechanical stuff, but I can lift heavy things and go for Cokes. :)

I agree with you Billy 100%. It was a great weekend overall for the Marauder community. Hey, see you in a couple of weeks. Grilled oysters at Dragos is on my mind....;)

Not entirely true, there was this one guy who was too busy trying to separate folks from their cash on side bets......
