View Full Version : California Emissions?

Hello list,

I finally drove an MM this weekend. I think it's adequate for my purpose in stock form, which I know won't last for long.

Problem is, with the time it took to get my ducks in a row, locally, there's only one Silver (I prefer black, personally, even though I know I'll be sorry from a paint maintenance standpoint) and one black BUT it's a 50-State California emissions car.

I know typically these perform less well than do 49 state cars & can present problems when modding.

Anything that couldn't be undone fairly easily? As long as it's limited to catalysts, and not different heads/intake/cams stuff, then ok, I might take it. Even if I had to source a different PCM & change a couple of pinouts on the harness, that's no big deal, either.

It's a 300B, after much consideration, I really don't care if it's A/B.

Thanks in advance.

JHD:

Check out this thread (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3703). I don't believe we ever settled the question of what, if any, difference there is in a "California emissions" car...it seems to be mostly ECM programming...

The bad thing is, I *know* not doing a search first is bad etiquette. Sorry. I'm just down to the wire if I'm going to do this.

Comments moved to that thread.
