yeah yeah i know it took long enough but hey from the time i ordered it till the time i had it on the car was only 11 days! not bad for an 18 year old still in school with a job ;). you can see in the third pic that the paint isnt a 100% match but it so close its hard to notice. well enough is enough, here you go.

yeah the paint not matching is because the hue is off with the silver, which is why you would blend into the fenders, oh well, who cares!
looks awesome i like it a lot more than i thought i would.
how is the fit and finish of the hood? as in panel gaps, alignment, is the hood ready to paint, or was there any work needed to make it smooth, etc?

good call on your part. its so little i dont really care right now butif it strarts to annoy me ill have it done.
as for the fit and finish, not to bad panal gap is pretty good no prob with the bolt holes lining up. upper latch piece fit good as well but i had to enlongate the holes on the upper latch to get the proper alignment but no big deal. i also had to remove the gas struts because they put to much pressure on the hood when trying to close it. so i have make an old school prop system. the hood does need to be sanded to get it evened out

That is the first hood scoop/power bulge I've seen that looks good on this car...now I have to try and find reasons to NOT do it...I think I'm doomed :D

I love it. Looks like Im going to have to bite the bullet and order it. Thanks for the pics, Seeing it on the car installed really makes the difference. Once you get the hood sanded you'll see that the paint will be more uniform and not look so off color.

Wow! It's really nice. I want one so bad. Arghhhh. Must make money...
Can you imagine this on a Black? It's going to look so intimidating, esp. if you have the bark to go along with it:D
Thanks for being the first!

Looks real nice! Can you elaborate on the hinge and strut mods you had to make?
Thanks,

So, is the problem because the hinges are too powerful for the hood? Are you saying the hood is a bad (weak) design?
MarauderSM

I think the hood was said to be all fiberglass with no mount plate where the hinges mount up.

Re install the gas struts, but drill a hole through them.
This will let the gas out and give you a spot to install a pin to keep the hood up.
They also make hood struts with little to no pressure in them JUST for fiberglass hoods.

Advance Auto Parts has many struts....various lengths and strengths!!
As far as blowing up....nada....no volume to them so probably just a "psssst"!!

Now HEATING that strut is a VERY VERY bad idea.
When my 89 lincoln tc went up in flames, the strut heated and blew through the hood, hitting the fire chief in the helmet and landing on the other side of main street.
