I don't get under my car much since its my daily. However I did the other day and noticed something that makes me want to throw up. Along the bottom of the drivers side rear door is RUST and paint bubbling/flaking off!! Its 2" high from the bottom of the door and goes ALL the way along it. I looked at some high res pictures I took at a car show last year and none of this was there!!!
Anyone else had a problem like this? I'm going to take her in to the body shop sometime this week and see what they'll charge to sand it down and re-paint just the bottom of the door. It looks aweful!!!!!

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. Search for door sills. You will find that the plastic fillers should be removed to keep the water from piling up. UT? Is there snow out there???

You are covered for 5 years after the in-service date for FREE rust repair, IIRC

This was talked about in another thread too. I can't imagine a 4 year old car already with that problem.

No rust on my MM, yet.
But corrosion started on my 2003 MGM - just on the same place. I read on the MGM forum that lots of owners mention that rust appears on that very place.
What to do ? Yestersday, I sprayed the driver side door sills bottom with a "rust inhibitor and encapsulator". I believe that this will seriously delay the process. To what extend...I do not know.

Get one of these on there as soon as possible. I live in Hawaii and it's going to save my car :)

Its been a Utah car all its life. I talked to my buddy that works at a Ford dealer and he said there's nothing he can do. He was the one that was able to get my car re-painted the first time (hood/roof/trunk) because of the crappy OEM job.
I've got the car with me today, I'll shoot a picture and post it.

Damn, sorry to hear about this, man. I'm glad my car isn't my daily driver anymore. Rust is evil.

Kode3,
I did a LOT of research on these types of devices, and came to the conclusion that this one was THE BEST. I've been looking into doing this just in the past few weeks, I can't believe you made this post!
So, I never knew it before, is it true that there is a rust problem in Hawaii? I'm in New England, and our winters DESTROY any vehicle in 5-10 years if driven through the salted streets. Tell me about your experience with this device, how you came to discover it, and what you know about how effective it is. I may look into doing a GROUP BUY for MM.net. I WILL NOT go this winter without one of these puppies on my car, even though I'm taking it off the road.
My car was a virgin Georgia beauty when I picked her up this past June...

Check here. I noticed this a while back. Just heard back from the insurance company and they will cover the repair on all four doors. This was as an add-on insurance the dealer "made" me buy, since the "super secret ever-lasting rust protection" was already applied when I purchased it. At least the insurance payment offets what I paid for the coverage 5 years ago.
I'll take some before and after pictures.
Good luck,
Peter
