After the removal of parts to sell, what is the proper procedure for getting rid of what's left over? Will a junkyard come get it?
I am still waiting on the police report to see whether or not the guy has insurance. My god its been 10 days! The waiting is killing me. Yanno, IF this guy ends up not having insurance, sure its on me not to have gotten the full tilt insurance ( ironically, with this new job, I have it penciled in to get upgraded 12/1) He very well could get away with MURDER. What kind of recourse can I have against someone that is more than likely illegal.
At incident, he produced proof of insurance for the police. I am fairly certain, it was bogus.
I await, and wait and wait

They should, if they can't sell of parts, they will recycle it.

The cops took care of getting all his info. they wouldnt let me near him to get his info. They said that was procedure in an injury accident situation. Had I known it was going to take this long just to get the GD report, I would have done it all differently.

Been my experience 'round here that if it's a roller, Pick-Your-Part will come get it for no charge.
Yours is newer than what they usually have in their yards, so it might not hurt to call around
to some of the other yards, depending on how many good body parts are left after you're done.
I'm still holding out hope you'll be able to fix it...

Sorry I still don't understand why your insurance company is only offering you $3,500. Did you have Uninsured Motorists Property Damage with a max limit of $3,500?
Contact the D/A about his ticket when you get the police report. Tell the D/A the amount of your financial loss and that you want to attend the traffic trial as a witness.
In LA their license will be confiscated until they provide proof you have been fully compensated.
You don't want the D/A to reduce it to a non-moving so he can keep his license and do it again.
A drunk illegal killed a childhood friend who was 7-8 months pregnant.

Parts you can part off you sell or keep.
Someone like me, not right now, but in the future might want to buy some of the non part off able parts to make a Marauder Coupe. Ask around.
as for the cost, if he is not insured.
You sue him. If he is illegal, he might have a house or another car or a job and be paid pretty good. Not all Illegals work from street corners.
If he can't pay you make sure he is deported. You put a lean on his name and or his employer. Make it really hard for him to get work in the USA. There are other less legal things you can do but I won't mention them.

Junk yard should come pick it up, or might have to ask a tower to do that.
I would take EVERYTHING off of that car, and just get rid of the body and frame, 99% of the stuff that survived will be bought by someone, and if it doesnt sell here, ebay!
