This may only effect SOHC engines, I'm not sure

The vehicles were built at the St. Thomas Assembly plant from 08 August 2000 through 04 April 2003. Vehicles based on the Panther platform include the Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car.</FONT>

Now the big question is... would we (as performance enthusiasts) *prefer* the wrong parts, if you get my drift? Wish we knew what parts they were talking about, and why they cause a problem.

The problem here is which cars? Do all the cars produced during those dates have the bad parts? How are we, the poor consumer to tell? Not enough information here to preclude what, and who has the bad equipment.......

From what I saw from my sources at work, this recall only pertains to the police interceptors. However, if you would like to know if your "Panther" platform car (MM or not) applies, feel free to PM me with your full VIN (MM owners only need to give me the last 9, the 1st 8 are the same). I will run it through Ford's OASIS and let you know.
