After reviewing various car alarms, I've come to the conclusion that this one does as said. Read thru the whole web-site and give your thoughts.

That's good to keep the vehicle from getting stolen unless their is a tow truck. I have two hidden switches in my car, one is to the fuel pump and the other is to the ignition. I will be adding a Viper alarm soon to the car with a paging system so I'll know once someone has gotten into the car.

You could, of course, get yourself a trunk monkey:D

I still think that a hidden camera with GPS & a sierra wireless cell card is a better way to go. If you can get, and I don't know if your area allows this, a pay as you go or use it option, then you hook it all up such that if your alarm goes off, it activates and starts data logging. It is like lowjack, except that it stores video or who and gps the where you car is.
You then store this info online and give the police the GPS coordinates and video of said persons time linked...
I don't know if anyone makes this, but I'm sure it can be done and with some help from those on the board here it shouldn't be a problem.
Now let me read that link of yours.
I think if you're a pro you can get around that easy.
It is just a matter of having it installed on your car and mapping the wires out with a little computer. Something any pro could and would do. Or a hair pin.

These resistive type ignition interrupts have been around since the 80's. They're a pain in the ass to remember. They're a pain with the valet or with anyone who borrows your car since you have to explain it all. To have any effectiveness they have to be hidden (translation = pain in the ass to get to). They can be easily bypassed with a simple wire tap.
A decoy flashing LED on the dash would be a more effective deterrent. That would only cost you like 10 bucks and an hour of time.
In the end, get a real alarm from a real installer. Let only the LED be known. Don't sticker up the car with the brand name of the alarm. That's like giving the thief instructions on how to by-pass it!
If a thief wants your car or any part of it bad enough, he'll get it. All we can really do is discourage it.
Diabolical, the cops have units like you mention for their in-car surveillance like you see in the scary police chase videos. I used to install them. They could easily be triggered by most any means you like. For a security device, they would be prohibitively expensive... on the order of $4k with the GPS.

I contacted Ravelco as your post was VERY interesting to me. They said for my s10 it would normally be 350.00 +tax installed in 3-4 hrs. They come out on site to where the car is to get it done, at least in MD.
They are having a sale  so now till the end of Nov it would be $299.95. I'm thinking of having SilverSurfer03's Chevy 1500, Marauder, and my truck done next week as the give a multicar discount!!
His truck has already been stripped once, lord knows what we would do it that happened again to one of his vehicles.
THANK YOU for posting this thread. I had no idea that the noisy a$$ed car alarms were so easy to over ride  Guess the one of the bfs truck isn't worth the $ paid.

They do on site work in Maryland? Since I'm in the city I will have to see what's up.

My 1996 GM was stolen from a busy street and it had an LED.
They found it completely stripped. It was a professional operation. No blots, washers, clips or trash. They had the time to bag every thing.
Several years latter the police busted a chop shop near there. Everyone knew it was there, guess they missed a protection payment.

The new Lojack system will notify you seven different ways if your car is moving without the key, even if its towed. They call three numbers, pager, cell, fax, and two emails. Cool stuff.
