Here's something we ALL should consider. Everybody here since the beginning have and still drive our cars hard, mods and a LOT more. Nobody ever really talked about brake fluids, well this link says it all. Hope you enjoy!

This information is good! When we built my car the fluid was not flushed and no matter what you did or who worked on it the brakes were still spongy and the did not want to stop. I took it to the guys that do my Hhigh performance work and they flushed the system. The car stops great now. This is a good thread, Thanks.

I changed my brake fluid out at 14k. I have 40k and still have a good firm pedal.

Can DIY'ers do a good brake fluid change at home or do you need to have a shop use a flush machine? Can we just bleed out the old?

Flushing brake fluid has been part of the routine maintenance on all my cars for the past 25 years. It really is important.

This site is 5-6 yrs. old and we still don't have ONE thread detailing how to replace the brake fluid at home.

I wish that the DIYers here would have taken the time to show us wannabe DIYers how to do this at home.

Every 3K miles I change my oil, oil filter and 4 quarts of transmission fluid (via drain plug) and every spring (regardless of miles) I change the air filter, fuel filter, and coolant. On every other spring I also replace the thermostat and use a turkey baster to replace as much of the steering fluid that I can over a few days.

Being at 44K I truly hope that someone will post up how exactly (with pics please) to bleed the break fluid.

Who wants to be the first?

Did a search for this product on Jeg's and see that there are many models. Do you know which one we need for our Marauders? Thanks.
