I'm home safe, nice cruse at 1500rpm doing 60mph, Shamu loving the cold air. Belly full of Spaten Optimater, good pig, good friends, fast car. I think I'm finally over my Roadrunner. I'll let Bluerader and the rest put up the pics and good tales. How come your car club is so lame? How many Pigs you cooked this year? Yeah I'm talk'n smack, we were discussing who is going to pick up the slack and host MMVI, how about YOU! Tom

My wife and I had a complete and total blast with the CAM guys at the museum and dinner afterwards, and are looking forward to getting with them again in the future. We had a great time visiting with everyone and thanks for the pics posted above.

Mark --- Great Pics ^^^^^. It was a very good outing yesterday for the Capital Area Marauders. The weather turned out better than I expected. Unfortunately, for the first CAM meet in nearly 4 years, I walked out of the house without the camera. Please post up if you have pics from the day.

Tom, it was nice to meet you and your family. Likewise to Casey and Shawn on making the trip up from the Hampton/Tidewater area. Welcome to CAM. :welcome1:

Also welcome to "aparker0069" :welcome: a new member from the DC area who jumped on the convoy coming down from the Iwo Jima Memorial. See --- I did get your screenname right this time.

Jake -- your 1st place trophy/plaque from the Laurel UPS car show is fantastic. Very nice --- thanks for representing (and winning in your class) the Mercury Marauder community. Hope you got a chance to pass it around and let everyone see your prize.

Mark and Pam -- great to see you guys again and thanks for the SSHS7 video -- I'll be watching that on TV today between football and NASCAR.

Gordon and Chris -- Wow, a record run from Frederick to Quantico. Nice times. Always great to see you two.

EB, Mark K, Tom D, Mike O, Mark O, Chris (nice to meet your folks), Brian and Natalie --- enjoyed chatting with you again.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to come out and enjoy the day. Hope you thought it was worthwhile. I know that I did. Seeing the entire back row at the USMC museum filled with Marauders was a real treat. I think that I missed alot at the museum and I'll have to schedule a rerun to allow more time in some of the exhibits. However, I did NOT missed the opportunity to sit down upstairs and have an Amber Bock in the famous "Tun Tavern" -- birthplace of the US Marine Corps.

For me, one of the highlights was our grand entrance into the restaurant parking lot. The folks standing there must have thought an FBI bust was in progress when 15 MMs roared in. The look on their faces was ..... well .... Priceless !!!

Great day, good times with MM family and friends. Thanks to one and all !!! Lets do this again sometime. :D

It was good to meet old friends and new, Chris and I had a good time at the museum. Not enough time to drool over all the neat things they had and it brought back memories, no I was not a Jarhead.

We discussed MVVI during dinner and I believe Mark Kaiser was volunteering to host it again or at least to help out.

One of the ideas that did surface while eating dinner at the German restraunt was MVVI at Octoberfest. Now we are not talking just any Octoberfest, we are talking about thee Oktoberfest in Munich. You heard right Munich, Germany; we can call it 'Maraudering Munich'. Just imangine real Germany beer, real German food and real German Ompa music.

Talking about real German food, Mike (Breadfan) how has the lower piece of the horse you ate on Saturday? You know its weewee.

Looks like you guys had a great time. I was logging some miles this past weekend. About 900 or so. Drove from here to Buffalo and then to Rochester, and then back in about a 24 hr window. No Marauder though. My father-in-laws BMW Z3 was fun though. When is the next one going to be?

Man, I was bummed out since I didn't get to set foot in the Marine Museum... maybe we should all do that again, for those who are local and couldn't go... next time though, we can try a different place to eat... somewhere that has a nice, juicy steak.. so rare that when I stab into it that dang thing jumps up and goes MOO.

Sorry that you couldn't get there at 1 PM. Looks like I am gonna have to get down there again 'cause I didn't really get to see everything either and forgot my digital camera.

We've had plenty of meets with steaks available (rare and otherwise) at the Texas Roadhouse, Texas Steakhouse, RedBrick Station, Big Bat's, etc. ..... THIS was the "different place".

Looks like it was a nice turn out, wish I could of made it. If a meet ever ends up there again I'll have to bring my father-in-law since he is a ex Marine.

I think he will be the first to tell you that there is no such thing as an Ex-Marine. Once a Marine, Always a Marine. :flag:

If I'm going 60mph I'm cruising at 1900 RPM, Maybe that is why I only get 14MPG.
