If only they had good road power and regular gasoline capabilities. Still overpriced and underpowered at $18000, used. I drove about 10 of them in 2003 and 2004 before deciding to keep my tushie in PIs. Too many heavy creature comforts in the Marauder for me... Working on my second million miles in Panther platform Fords.. beginning with a 428CJ PI ever so many years ago, and then to the 460 bow wow, and stuck with the carbureted, ah memories of the variable venturi, 351 until 1992 and with the 4.6 'til now. In '92 the year with no grille, had fuel starvation problems due to percolation of fuel, even with electric pump and FI when towing a 4000 lb trailer...but the ice water out of the cooler solved that problem. Took 'em several years to get that guppy mouth opened up so the car was not getting its cooling air off the hot asphalt, but I still love them.

You can tell it was a trade in, dealer doesnt know **** about the car, like the fact that it is a custom paint job and does NOT have chrome wheels.:shake:

But thats a good thing! My dealer thought that my car had a 4.5L V8

The only thing they knew was that they didnt make to many of these cars

I bet someone could get that car cheap if they said its just a MGM with custom paint :D

At those prices they are going to stay for sale.

Value Varies

I went to Kelly's.

My 04 S/B with premium sound and moon-roof options @ 52K miles using the "good" condition option is valued at:

Private Party: $15,765
Trade in: $13,680
Suggested Retail value: $19,065

I paid $27,400 new in July 04. That means it's depreciated $11.7K from PPV
over a 40 month period or $292.50 per month or about $3900 per year.

There was a post recently charting depreciation, can't remember where.

Hummm.

I am curious about the Private Party value.

If it is Private Party then how does Kelly get the info?

Why would Private Party be so much less?

Could it be Private Party in many cases are cars that do not meet a dealers condition standard?

It doe not make any sense to me.

Usually a tad cheaper because its not checked thuroughly before being sold, and the preventative maintenance and do-dads that need to be fixed usually areant. Car dealerships USUALLY go through the car and repair issues before selling. (Brakes, tires, lights, scrapes, dents, etc.)

That makes me feel really good about my MM buy $18k with 12k miles 3 years ago.

Sailsmen;

I would think it would come from certain data bases. State Registration for example, Insurance Companies for another. There could prolly be more, trade publications, surveys.

It's also tied to zip code or area code or other methods of geographical identification. I entered a California zip code in the Kellys' query and it computed different values. TIV was up $650.00, PPV was up $700.00 and SRV was up $800.00.

Hope this helps your understanding.
