General Sherman marched on Ceil County Dragway this morning. Again he burned down the track with a earth pounding 11.242 @ 120.84 MPH This is the worlds record for a Eaton power Trilogy kit , stock displacement, no nitro. I have a video of the run taken by his son Chris. This is a spectacular achievement for the Marauder family. Sherman is car #4

One of my friends were at this event with the SC club and I was going to attend but I was nervous about blowing something up and being so far from home Congrats on the run. I got a text message when he ran the 11.22

I know he has put a lot of effort into it.

It would be fun if we knew all his mods.

Great news, congrats to Sherman!

Who was it that said a low compression iron block won't move these cars because it needs compression to move the heavy car and the iron block only makes it worse??? Eat those words!

That man is nuts, I love it!
Awesome run Sherman.

I spoke to this man for a short time in Georgia, and I guessed about everything he had done to his car. I was right.

You Trilogy guys want to kick ass, listen up....

Send your blower out to be ported by Steigmeier. I respect most of what Lidio has to say about the Trilogy kit, but definitely not the advice of NOT doing this.

Again, way to go Sherman!

There is a reason somethings are on a need to know basis.

"Pretty Hilarious, the fastest Trilogy car had its new engine assembled and installed by Reinhart"

Life is full of irony.

This is Chris, Sherman's son. Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Tires are 28x10x16 Hoosier Drags, full slick.

Blackened300a. Which one do you know? Or do you know them all? I have a SC too. Miller was runnin pretty good and it sounds like FKR is having trans problems so they where a little let down.

sailsman. Mods are 03-04 cobra bloc from ford, Trilogy kit of coarse with the blower ported by Steigmeir, stock TB ported by steig also, 2.8 blower pulley, metco crank pulley, JLT cold air kit, SCT BA2400 MAFS, DirtyDog 3000 stall converter, transgo shift kit, MMX driveshaft, 4.10 gears, eaton tru trac locker, Hoossier slicks, GT40 fuel pump, Stainless Works full exhaust, Full interior, no AC.

Fordnut. Amen!

You answered my question about the Steggy question lol. Question though, why a Transgo and not a J-mod?

Who had there motor built by Reinhart?

Raudermaster- that was against a 4.6 2v t-bird with a allen SC kit on it.

Ahh ok. How many psi was the T-bird running? Did it too have a built motor?

I J-modded it but shortly after that something happened to the trans. Was doing the same thing that one of the other guys car was doing at sshs7, can't remember who it was. You rev the car up and it wouldn't go anywhere till you get to a certain rpm then it would jump forward like dumping the clutch in a manual car. The trans shop rebuilt it with a transgo kit.

I'm not sure how much boost he runs. Yeah his motor is pretty stout. He's still got AC and all that good stuff. He weighs in close to 4k lbs too.

How are the hoosiers at high speed. I wondered if the car dances around a lot and what air pressure is Sherman running.

I have seen those tires. Similar to M/T, bias ply, but hook like mad. I really want those new M/T radials on wide rims.
Awesome run indeed.
VERY FAST TRILOGY CAR indeed. http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/6/2/6/cool.gif
Those mods look very familiar. ;)

I cannot wait for next year.

they aren't bad. We have tubes in them. We were running 17lbs cold that day and they goto to about 18 1/2 after the burnout. We usually run them alittle lower 16 or 17 hot, thats on the non prepped tracks. We are gonna have the wheels widened this winter so maybe we can run some more pressure and get the same bite.

Cause alot of us have been on the receiving end of his "not so well" work.

Anyway, nice run Sherman! When does the rollbar go in?
