this is the front, I still have to find someplace that can chrome plate them. I was thinking about chroming it, and then painting the background black behind the head.
the first mold kept creating gas bubbles, so we will have to keep trying it until we get the pour stable enough to eliminate the bubbles.

we havent been able to make a mold for this one yet, but here is what it will look like.

I like it. What about doing the Mercury letters in red?

MonsterD,
I like your design. I keep trying to improve the car and make it look like it should have come from the factory.
Keep up the good work and let us know when they are available. They will look good on the front and rear of our cars, IMHO.

They look great! Please dont give up. You know, maybe if you offered them in just flat black, i am sure people would buy them. I kinda like the stealth look. So, if the chroming dosent work out, they still can work.

Thanks alot!

I'd take two of #2 (the chrome) when you figure the mold out! Nice work!

I personally think there are to many god heads already. Two on the seats. Four on the rims. And if you put one on the steering wheel like I did you now have a total of seven. I wish the factory had not put any on the seats and rims. I really don't care for them and like the Mercury logo better on the front and rear. At a recent car show someone asked me why I had firemen on my seats.  :coolman:

No offense to our fine, brave men and women who risk their lives everyday (and some that I'm proud to say reside on this site)...

but...sounds like you were talking to a REAL car enthusiast there, Menace. What, were they just there for the fine food?

I think they look like fishermen.

Looking good. Does the grille badge have the attaching pins?
There are places that can chrome plastic. Look under restoration services in Hemmings Motor News, or even check local platers

Would a vacuum chamber help remove the bubbles?

Have you thought of putting "Maraurder" lettering around the bottom ? See my photo gallery--I did it

my dad had cast another front emblem......and it looked clean. He ended up ordering some new material, I guess when it gets old, it developes too much gas............hmmm, I am not going to touch that one.
But I want mine to be black.........but the chrome looks really sweet. I think chroming the whole thing, and then painting the background and the letters black would look nice.
He still has a lot of contacts from before he retired from Mattel, so hopefully I can get a pretty good deal on the chroming.

I took my car into the dealer today for the first time, and it was detailed......now it looks like it might have to be repainted. There are bubbles in the paint. I hoped they would come out in the detail, but now they show even more. I had most of the service people out on the driveway today....they wanted to hear about what I do for a living, so I dropped some hints that we were looking for a Dealership to hook up our club members....hopefully when I go back I can set up something. I really want that rear wing, but I refuse to pay $275 for something I know is only about $150 cost.

I think they look funky in the black. If you sell them that way also, I'd be interested in a set. Thanks reddog
