My Marauder is not my daily driver and is sits in the car port for up to 2 days at a time. She has 45K miles and I hear a high pitched noise on start up after not running her for 2 days or even over night. This high pitch noise or squeak only lasts about a minute or so and never occurs if the car has been used in earlier that day or when the car is warm.

Could it be the belt? Looks good and I don’t see cracks.
<o:p></o:p>
Alternator bearings? Could it be even if the Volts are always perfect?
<o:p></o:p>
Water pump or water pump bearings? Could it be even if the car never gets above 186-191 degrees F. no matter how hard I am on her?
<o:p></o:p>
I am still under warranty but I don’t want the dealer just “playing” with her.

So, those of you with some know-how, take your best shot.

When the temps get a little colder, the throttle body will give off a little whistle til the engine warms up.
I notice it in my car as well when it sits for a while.

Could be the belt or a pulley that may not be getting enough lub.
What oil are you using?
Some will say there is a S/C trapped under your hood just trying to get out.:D

My S/C has a squeak since day one of my install and has gotten progressively louder in the last year. I will take out the motor next month and investigate the problem. I think it's a pulley.

It hasn't gotten below 75*F here in South FL yet so I do not think that it has much to do with temps or my car is just pretending to be cold like her sister Marauders to the north.

Using Ford 5-20 every 3K on the dot.
Should we lube the pulleys or do they get lubed by the engine oil?
Also, the noise always goes away after about 1 minute after start up.

My noise use to go away after about a minute of so.

I get the same thing with my '89 CV.
As soon as the noise quits, turn on every electrical item you can. Seat warmers, lights, HVAC fan, defroster, run the windows and seat, ect.
This will put a load on the alternator. If you got a worn, old, or hard belt, you'll hear that squeal come back.
Try this but keep in mind I'm just a half-a$$ed shadetree mechanic.
