In being corrected about the engine in our Marauders not being the same as a 03 / maybe earlier mustang cobra, I would like to ask the community about the Validity of where and what this car came from.
It was always my understanding that we did in-fact have the same engine as a Cobra, and that we are a SVT spin off.

Not the Cobra engine, but the '01 Bullet engine.

I guess 2001 was the test phase?

We have the 03-04 Mach 1 motor but only those with the auto tranny. The Bullitt is a 4.6 2V motor we have a 4V motor.

Now we are getting somewhere. I knew we had something in common with the SVT stangs...

Nada. other than the fact they both used 32v's
99-01 cobra's used forged cranks, cast rods/pistons. 03-04 are all forged.
we have cast crank/pistons/rods. Like stated above, we have the Automatic Mach 1 motor. The stick Mach's got the forged crank cobra setup as well.
we really have nothing in common with SVT. Technically we couldnt. its not a Ford branded car. There are no SVT's that arent a Ford.

I too would think if SVT got their hands on the Marauder, it would have came with a lot more.

We have the Mach 1 motor and nothing at all to do with SVT. The Marauder programme was a stand-alone under the direction of Steve Babcock.

The only thing in common is that the basic design is almost the same as the '99-'01 Cobra. 32 valve DOHC, nearly the same heads, very similar lower intake manifold, same displacement. Different material compositions and such details as forged crank, straight shift vs automatic, different piston materials, different cam profiles.
Like they said, same as the Mach 1 except different upper intake.

Okay, now I'm learning...If the Mach 1 was an SVT product, how did we wind up with the motor?...It would have been sweet to have the " shaker" in the hood.
Who is Steve Babcock?

The Mach 1 wasn't an SVT product. It doesn't have ANY SVT badges on it anywhere. It's basically a spin off of the 99/01 Cobra's. (Or is it a spin off of the 03/04 Cobra's?) Not sure what came out first; the Cobra or the Mach.

Sorry to THREADJACK but in my thread "got cobra parts" DR stated that the motor out of the 01 cobra at my shop is a good swap an my question is WHY ? Just for the forged crank ? The poster above said 01's have only forged crank so does that make a huge difference to do the swap?

The Mach 1 auto's don't have a forged crank (at least that's what I've read) and the '01 Cobra's do.

A forged crank should allow you to rev that 4 valve a little higher which it should like. However the 01 motor will not have the 03+ heads that are regarded by some as the best 4.6 4v heads Ford made.

The 03-04 Cobras have an iron block, vs. the alumnium block of the MM. I read somewhere that SVT went with the iron block for a little bit more strength. They were concerned that about Cobra owners swapping out the blower pulleys to produce more than the stock 8 psi of boost. I think mine must be one of the only 03 Cobras with the stock pulley still on it...

I wouldn't exactly call the '03-'04 Mach 1 Mustangs a spin-off of the 99/01 Cobra. The 99/01 Cobra had an IRS (independent rear suspension). My guess is that the 2001 Bullitt edition Mustang sold well enough that Ford decided to pull the Mach 1 moniker back out and the way they made it unique from the GT was with the 32V engine. But, both the Bullitt and Mach 1 were production Ford vehicles.
