Was having stall out problems with the big car at 5800 rpm.
I thought it was the xcal tune so I contacted Dennis Reinhart. He sent me an email repair for the tune and a word of advice...check the fuel filter.
I replaced that first and the car works perfect.
He dealt with me, and this issue over the holidays!!!!
The tune was not the problem.
Called today to thank him, and get some advice.

Heres what he said...
1...Change those filters every 12,000 miles... a clogged or slow filter can damage the engine. by causing it to run lean.
2....Another thing he suggested... switch to the fuel filter designed for the Ford ranger, its too big but can be coerced into place. part # FF686 from the "AutoZone"
3....And as all have mentioned... the clips break, Napa actually has them, they are just tough to find due to some numbers inventory thing.

A big thanks to the DR. and all who chipped in over the weekend.

If you use the bigger filter, spread the original filter bracket apart and use a worm gear clamp around the bracket and filter to hold the new filter in place.
