:banana2:Coming back from N.Y. after Thanksgiving and was doing 76MPH on the Jersey Pike when a trooper comes up behind doing 90 at 6A.M. He takes a long look at my Marauder and then speeds up again to get the guy 10 car lengths ahead of me -he's doing about 74!!!

Several more looks from other troopers along the way and some smiles-not a good day for Japanese cars.

I've gotten pulled over two times by two different Staties, I was only doing about 75 too in the middle lane. They had nothing but questions about the MM! Just said, "That's awesome and I'm definately going to look into one. Drive safe!" Off they went.

I've been passed over more than a few times my state troopers here in Illinois.

I got busted 2 weeks ago.... by my wife. I had the GPS sitting on the console behind the shifter coming north on I55 from St Louis to Chicago. When we were almost home The Wife started hitting buttons on the Garmin out of boredom. It told her my average speed etc for the trip {72 MPH including pit stops} but also my max MPH of 101. She kinda got freaked until I pointed out I did that for quite a few miles and she never picked her head up from her crossword puzzle.

MAN - I do love the "road car" ability to drive long distance at safe speeds!!

Last week I went the bank and parked . I saw cvpi pull up next to me so I thought it was ticket time for the tints(Wheeling Il). First thing he says you know tint is illegal. I told him it was already on it when iI purchased it. Then Both officers come out and one them says I know it use to be my car. His wife made him trade it in. They finished checking it out and said have a nice day. Also when you drive behind someone either they slow down to speed limit or move aside. Love the car.

I had a cop follow me half way across the city the other day. When I did change lanes they just cruised by without looking. I guess with the DTR they just assume I'm an old guy in a Grand Marquis.

I've had them wave. I've had them stop me. Never have gotten a ticket, though!

I went to Daytona a couple a months ago, a FHP in a crown vic told me that FHP has 22 MM for police cars. He and 12 others were in line to get the next set, unfortunately; the order was cancelled. He wished he had one, he said, the tuned MM FHP uses eats those crown vic alive.

FHP is probably below 22 MM cars now due to attrition, I suspect. The original set came via an anonymous donation to buy the cars. There a thread in here somewhere that dates back to 2004 on this. Black, Silver and DTR .... no Blues. How were they gonna order/buy more when they have been out of production since 25 June 2004. That is when they got their original set?

Most of my travelling is in PA to go to work, even though I live in NJ. Driving the MM has probably saved my butt a few times. Since it's rush hour, one never gets to "speed" anyway. But my most enjoyable moments are when members of the PA State Police, which patrol I-76 (most of my route), do everything they can, many times, to catch up to me to take a good look. One day they're going to pull me over for a good talking to.

On the other hand, maybe it's the "Emergency Management" placard in my rear window that has kept me from being sidelined.:) (Yes, it's legit).

Blue marauder,

he was referring to when they first came to FHP out in 2004, sorry my post was not specific enough; thanks for the response.

all the local LEO around here think that I'm one of their academy instructors, as he also drives a black MM. (he told me I'm likely ticket-proof as a result) I've had a few roadside discussions as well, so they could look over the car. I also sell drilled and slotted rotors to several of the local agencies in the course of my day job, so a lot of them know me anyway.
