Hi all, name is Dave. Just picked up a black 03 MM with 6300 original one owner miles. The car was owned by an older couple at their summer house down on Cape Cod.

I've already had the windows tinted 20%, K & N air filter, next up exhaust and maybe some black Bullitt wheels. Car is already put away for the winter, will not register or drive it till next spring.

I'm a member of the NH Mustang Club, SVTOA, MCA, and attend lots of car shows, cruise nights, and a few open track events each year at tracks such as Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Summit Point, Gingerman, etc. (Wonder how the MM would hold up against the Cobras on the track ? :coolman:)

Welcome aboard and congrats on the car!

You just missed a little get-together up in your parts (in Mass, anyway) at the 99 in Marlborough (you may have caught this if you have seen the other threads in the New England forum).

Hope to see you once this winter thing blows over and we can all meet you!

Best,
Jonathan

Welcome!!!

Your car sounds amazing. Pics? I love Limerock. Watched my uncle race his ZO6 at Watkins Glen last year and dust Porsche cup cars.

You should search the threads for best upgrades. 4.10 gears and Lidio's tune will take 1/2 second off your ET. If you want the road course, though, not sure 4.10s will be the best...

Hi Dave and welcome to MercuryMarauder.net! I believe I ran into you at the WPI car show last spring where the 2 2000R Cobras were parked next to each other. Was yours the raffle-won car?

There are several of us in central MA.

Welcome! Great find with great miles on it. I too bought mine with low miles .(13k) The Cobra R must be badass! I work at EMC and we had an employee carshow last summer and there was one '00 R here, I believe it was #121, they too live somewhere here in MA. There is a wealth of knowledge on here, I should know since I had a lot of questions coming into the MM. Perhaps you can come to my blower install in the Spring time to be your first official "meet."

Also too fastcar, I think 4.10's would be fine for road racing. You figure you want power coming out of the turns, the 4.10's would be much better than the factory 3.55's. Also too don't forget, can't remember his name though, it's a Trilogy car, he chased down a Ford GT on a road track in his MM. So it is possible.

Yeah, the R is fun on the track, that's what it was made for..

#121 is my friend Steve, he live close by to EMC....

Remind me and others come spring time for the blower install, might give me some ideas since a friend of mine is planning on swapping his 03 cobra over to a turbo next year, and will have his eaton for sale hmmmmm....

WOW you guys are pretty steadfast on not changing the wheels :P

I wouldn't get rid of them, just put them aside if I were to change them.

We just had one in Marlboro at the 99 in October. 8 showed up. Some tried to get one together at the Wrentham Outlets a few weeks ago but that didn't go so well. I think some said we're gonna try something in January but who knows. I'm not very keen about winter get-togethers as my car is sensitive about people seeing her with her steelies on lol. Kidding.

Did you buy your '00 brand new? How many miles are on her? Pics? PLEASE!

I got the R in 2001 with 1500 miles on it, came from Detroit, and I am the third owner. Story here of how I got it:

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75315&highlight=accquire

I currently have 28,xxx miles on it, the car has NEVER been trailered. I have driven the car back to Detroit three times for open track events at Gingerman raceway, in South Haven Michigan, the Woodward ave dream cruise, and the FORD 100th anniversary show in 2003. Other open Track events I have driven the car to include Watkins Glen three times and Summit Point WV once. I have also driven the car twice to Montreal for the Montreal Mustang club annual show at Sanair dragway, been down to Carlisle for the Ford show twice, and drove it to Nashville in 2004 for the 40th anniversary mustang show.

I have the following mods on the car : rear diff cooler, Kenny Brown Extreme matrix subframes and jacking rails, SS brake lines, Bassani Exhaust, 6 point roll bar with 5 point belts, tinted windows, and last but not least, I added the complete MACH 460 stereo system - figured as much as I drive it might as well have some tunes, right ? LOL

(how come I cannot post images, just the links ?)
