Ok, so maybe I posted it in the wrong forum, but a built Teksid block for $1200 more than the going market rate is NOT a deal. ModularMustangRacing.com has a much better deal on this setup and are built by a well-known shop and not someone doing it in their garage.

My MMR block has been running for 30,000+ miles with two different superchargers and tons of abuse and I'd buy another one.

Dennis, if you want to offer a "deal", buy the MMR blocks and "Value Add" something to make it worth your time and a value to the users here. Maybe turn them into long-blocks at a reasonable rate and don't try to mark them up 50%. Let's be honest, $1200 is a LOT OF MONEY. I can't see that being a "service" or a "deal" in anyone's book.

I understand your point, however...

Consider Al Pappito (sp?). He's a local guy, here in Vero, and builds awesome motors... and they're not cheap!

I'm glad you are having good luck with the MMR.

John you posted this in my forum. with a hyper link to a non MM.Net Vendor, this price us under what I had up there, so it was justly soft deleted, for the reason this is a non paying vendor, now if you want to talk to the owners and start your own forum, and sell parts you have accessed to, I am sure they would look forward to that. Or if you want to call this company and ask them if they would like advertise here this would also be a nice gesture

It is possible to edit a post to remove a link to an unapproved vendor. You don't have to zap the whole post. If you need help with how to do that, check with Bunny.

I already apologized for posting in the wrong forum. The new info is above and that is enough for anyone to make an informed decision.

That's all I wanted to do, was provide more information for the general public.

about what? John is pointing out that you can get a built motor from well known companies for better prices elsewhere.

I too got a better deal on my VT big bore.

That's exactly what took place. I am a vendor here, I posted up prices for a short block. I did not feel it was appropriate to link a non vendor web site in my forum, and it was under pricing this new short block I had advertised, it is the same as if we had Brute a Force forum, and you were making your living selling widgets and someone posted in your forum, a link to another widget maker that was not a vendor here, and it was under pricing you. I am all for free enterprise and as I said, any one can and is encouraged to be a paying vendor here and then you can post and sell, and advertise whatever you like. I am sure if I posted in other vendors forums where members here could buy some thing cheaper than that specific vendor, I would have some explaining to do. So lets let this go and move on.

you heard wrong, too many experts on the internet... the VT people have been buying from was really just a couple sales guys in Canada, I happen to live accross the street from the machine shop, where the engine builders still reside, and still build motors as VT competition engine development ;)

I have one... and I was at the shop yesterday :P When I need something I call the 517 number not the 519 number. "VT" in Canada hasn't been VT for a while, but they still use the name and have been taking orders to try and dig out of whatever hole they are in. If you order an engine from the shop you'll get it, problem people are having is that they are ordering engines from a 3rd party, and think it's the machine shop. ;) Like I said, too many experts on the internet

This is a very good site, and I know what its like to strugle, and try and run a small business, today you can do a search on any company on the internet, VT is included, bottom line is you the consumer can buy from who ever you like.

I don't have a dog in this particular food fight..but good information pertinent to the issue is of value no matter where it is posted. I see the apology to Dennis and perhaps there is something happening in Orange Park that is worth the $1200 extra investment. I would find that discussion a hell of a lot more interesting. Just my 2 cents. Dennis

You have not followed the post, and you have misquoted my post. I never marked the price up 1200.00 this is what some one is selling there kit for. Yes it is less than what the man is selling his for here in Orange Park, these are not the same companies, there not the same builder so yes if you want the block for 3395.00 you are more than welcome to buy it, but please do not say I jacked the price up 1200.00 I did not. 3395 for all the below to me sounds to good to be true. You are more than welcome to buy the other kit PM TMF he can send you the link.

.Production Italian Teskid Aluminum block good for (900 HP+)
.FORD Forged steel crankshaft
.Bored and honed with deck plate
.030 over forged premium dished pistons
.H-Beam rods with ARP bolts
.File fit rings
.ARP Main studs
.Clevite Performance Bearings
.Rotating assembly balanced

Man, I can already see where this thread is going! :toilet: Not from experience, but I've see a lot of these "small" performance shops do nothing but screw people. Company called MSX from SVTp was charging outrageous prices for built blocks, and guys were getting them and cracking them open to find JUNK, stuff they didn't order, and the blocks and everything else covered in oil and grime. Then when they were calling them, telling them they opened the block, "Oh we're sorry, you opened the engine so it's not warranteed anymore." Just be careful where you get your blocks from.

But its perfectly ok to join in a discussion in another supporting-vendor's thread about something he sells and push your own product like this example...

HERE (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showpost.php?p=544604&postcount=13)

... or is that just a perk of being an owner-vendor as opposed to just being a supporting-vendor?

You mean there may be a "Truth about VT" website out there like there once was a... naaaah...

Like this guy on CV.Net... Hmmmm.... (http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1316979&page=3&fpart=1)

I exchanged PMs with the original poster, some scary stuff there.
