Hey fellas,

I just picked up a Marauder for my daily driver and will be commuting about 60 miles per day. Just wondering what you guys are doing and day and what MPG I should be expecting.

Average driving I get 18-19 MPG around town and 21-23 on the highway......If I drive it harder only the town mileage falls to 16-17 MPG but I've never seen it below 16 MPG.......over 500 CHP and BETTER MILEAGE than a 40 HP 1970 VW I once had!!!!:bows::D

These cars are truly GREAT!!!!:bows:

Enjoy it and be safe!!

No warm up, hyper mile-ing , I got 18.5 city with 4:10's and a power adder.
Driving like a "Street bully", turns it into 15's :P

23.5 MPG highway and 16-17 MPG around town. Might be a tad less now with the new tune .... 'cause I seem to "get on it" a little more. Haven't bothered to check MPGs in quite a while ..... it is what it is.

I commute 60 miles per day in DC metro area at times when traffic moves pretty well. I get a steady 19-20mpg. On long trips I get 24-25 mpg.

I average 15 city low 20's highway. I've only driven pure highway once - coming home from GA in October I had a long stretch of highway on cruise control - got 25 mpg. I'm not sure I believe that either. Usually my highway driving is only part of a tank, so that tank's average mpg will go up to maybe 19. Day to day, I usually need to start looking for a station at 225 miles - not empty, just down below a quarter tank.

20mpg consistantly. 300 miles to the tank. Low fuel lite comes on at 285 miles. Then I drive real nice till I find good fuel... fill er up and its about 15 gallons at 3.29 each 50 bucks to top it off. Meaning the gauge reads empty but still have 3 or 4 gals hiding in there. fast or slow, naughty or nice 20 mpg zone. Wish it had the fuel/useage/trip computer like the marquis.

I've gotten about 22 on the highway. Maybe 16-17 combined city/highway.

On winter gas I get about 17mpg +/- .5 around town. Summer 18.5-19mpg with a consistant 24.5mpg highway. Of course this is right foot dependant. ;)

I almost always average 20 during the summer (i drive it like i stole it too)

On the winter blend, i have seen a dropoff. Around 16-19 city/hwy mix.

3.27's, original tune up (close to 60k), 2 1/2 exhaust del. 2 rear cats

my last couple of tanks have goten me about 100 mile per tank..I think it has something to do with the whistle noise on acceleration.....lol

Thanks Captain,

After two tanks this is what I have experienced so far. I just wanted to confirm. This is a great site; thanks for all the informative replies!

13-16 city, 18-23 highway. Highway/city mix. I see only about 180 at best from a full tank. I have a bastardized MM, can't figure out why my mileage is bad. I can't imagine what it's going to be like with the blower and 4.10's come spring time.

Average about 14 city. I'm lead footed and turn off overdrive.

Me too. Running a tune and 4:10s, if I keep my foot out of it, in-town mpg goes up to about 17; on the highway I'll average between 21 and 23 cruising at 70 - 75.

About 20 mpg around town, 25 to 28 on the highway, 15 when I'm hot rodding.

First full tank ever got me around 180 total miles. After that I never put discount gas in it again. Then started getting between 225-250 miles per tank and for some reason with more mods I am getting 290-320, I think it has to do a lot with Zack's help in tune tweaking mad scientist skills. I drive her like how she wants it, hard and firm lol.

16-19mpg in city
22-24mpg on highway

what they said, 300 +/- per tank. 19ish mixed driving, 21+ highway.
K&N filter, intake spacer and a proguard. slightly lower with tune turned on...

I get around 18 MPG or 300 miles in the city.

I can get 22-23 highway MPG and I've made 400 miles on a tank before the low fuel light came on.

I have gotten as low as 13 mpg city, w/ lots of extremely short trips on one tank. The absolute best highway trip ever, with my PCM tuned, has been 22 mpg, on summer gas. Typical highway is 19-20. This car is really bad on gas compared to other cars I've had that ran similar 1/4 mile times, but it is BIGger and way HEAVY-er than my previous rides.

Having a huge, commanding-lookin' car has to cost you something! I would definitely not buy this car for a commuter-only car, I'd have to have the MM as the fun car but something economical to drive to work in. Luckily my work pays for my commute via rail, so I don't have to worry about a commuter car. All my cars are fun only.

200-210 around town...takes 17 on fill up . Foot in it every chance I get :burn:, OD programmed to lockout below 40 mph.

About 20 mpg on the highway.

Around 16-19 in the city 22+hwy. I don't do much city driving. When I take the MM out it is on the highway

400 Miles on one tank...all freeway I assume:confused: The last two tanks I was at 289-300 before the light came on. When filling up it had 3 gallons left. So if my math is right I am averaging around 18-19MPG while mixed freeway(traffic)/city.

Yeah thats what everyone said about my Mustang when I got her as a DD; I just cant see spending any amount of money on something I cant enjoy:D I dont mind putting miles on my cars so long as I can enjoy every mile:banana2:I did commute in a Mercury Tracer:lol: try sitting in traffic in that tin can.

about 225-250 with a mix of town/HW driving - less only around town. wonder if I am running too rich - white smoke quite often, no decrease in antifreeze.

Stranger in the Black Sedan
12-06-2007, 11:40 AM
Damn Grazni, if you are putting 17 gallons in at fill up, you are getting ~13 mpg mixed. That is not good!! I got that when I did a tank of all 5 mile trips to the store and back over the course of like a month, but that involved nothing longer than like a 15 minute drive. You'd probably get as good gas mileage w/ a big block carbureted car as what you are getting now

Before the 4.10 install, I could lean out the mix and back off the timing a bit to criuse mode. I had my car packed with me and four passengers, and all our luggage in the trunk. Managed 26 MPG on the highway. 18 around town

I now have the 4.10's and a very agressive tune, and even more agressive right foot. Seem to be around the 18 to 20 mark mixed driving. I just leaned out my tune with these 15 degree temperatures. MPG should go up a bit.

I do 80 miles round trip and ritually get 385 miles before the dummy light comes on. I get gas at the same station every 4 days, and drive the same route. I average 22.6 mpg.

Your tellin me - I gotta figure this out. I can be hard on the gas, but just about everyone else seems to be doing better....although I do enjoy the ride anyway:o
