Not sure if that is the correct term for the part or not but its the pulley that is right above the belt tensioner assembly. While checking my fluids the other day I noticed it had what looked like scuff makes on it in direction with the way the belt moves.

Ever since I put my new tensioner assembly on I've always had almost a s/c whine at low rpm and after 2k rpm it would go away. The marks on the "idler pulley" have gotten worse and I can wiggle it slightly back and fourth with two fingers. I'm hoping maybe this will help my HID flickering I'm having at low speed take offs. It doesn't happen all the time but here and there. It may not have anything to do with nothing but could be related since all my wiring is correct and their isn't any problem when the car is turned off, only when its on and running.

Anyone have the part number for this item? I don't know if this is what I should be looking at or not.

Any quick replies would be great cause I'd want to go get one today and replace it.

Thanks!

A slightly loose idler pulley shouldn't have anything to do with your lights flickering unless it was so bad the serpentine belt was flapping wildly and causing the alternator to slip and grab.

A fair number of people reported the flickering light problem a long time ago and it seems it's just a characteristic of the voltage regulator programming. I don't have any experience with HIDs; maybe they are more sensitive to small voltage fluctuations?

One thing I forgot to add is that while sitting at idle in park or drive at night I can look at interior lights and see a slight pulse. When I first got the car the voltage was reading around 12v and the alternator was replaced under warranty because it was a low charge. After that my voltage has always been 13.5-14.2 range. I have a good idea that it is that pulley and maybe causing drag on the system since they would be the reason why their is belt burn marks on the pulley itself.

Zack do you know the part number by chance so I can call a local F/L/M dealer and get a price and see if they have any in stock?

So I pulled the OEM one off and yeah it's shot, stick my finger in the bearing hole and spin it and I can feel the bearings almost like grinding and it just free spins.

The one I picked up is a Dayco p/n 89007 it doesn't look actually the same as the OEM one but its correct and I compared the two together and the Dayco one has resistance just like it's suppose to have. I check everything out tonight with the lights flickering and my interior lights pulsating.
