View Full Version : I ordered a supercharger....
And cant wait to get it!! I chose Dennis's kit for many reasons. No, not because the car put down awesome numbers. Its simple... this kit is safe and efficient. Looking to the future, a Vortech setup will complement engine mods better than other style blowers. Installation of this kit is straight forward and can be accomplished just looking at pictures to go off of. And the most exciting thing will be installing it myself. After many conversations, Ive found that everything to get this car set up right the first time is in the box upon delivery. To everyone in the Chicagoland area, when this kit is installed feel free to call me for a test drive. As of right now, I am going forward with installing this kit for other owners. After I complete my install, I will come up with a set price and I guarantee it will be affordable. I will keep everyone updated over the next month. I expect the kit to arrive in two weeks, so Ill start on it almost instantly. Later..

I, for one, look forward to hearing about someone's experiences installing a supercharger kit theirself. I've been contemplating a kit and the cost and logistics of having the installation performed by someone else are the main deterrent.
Be sure to keep us posted!

Congrats dude, Im interested to see what numbers you run after the blower gets stuck on.
You are installing it yourself? Holy crap! Thats nothing easy. Did you do your gears yourself?
No, I leave gears to the pros. Its not cost efficient to buy the tools to do it, and you never really gain experience doing them once or twice in your whole lifetime. So everyone knows, the oil drainback for the S/C will be professionally installed in the oil pan by my dealer. This will be factored into the install price.

Man-oh-man, this is outstanding. After many months of waiting for anyone's kit to become a reality, and it's happening right here in Chicagoland. This is just too cool. Please keep us posted on the progress.
I would be more than happy to host any guests to view portions of the install. I will supply beer and sware words while working on the car!!
Oh yeah... admission will be $1000.00 per person.
Beer is expensive these days.

ROFL, I'd rather bring my own beer. That would be nice seeing a video of Macs car and yours going at it on the track. Good luck on the install

FWIW, I installed Paxton's kit on my Cobra. It wasn't too difficult to install. It was pretty straight forward. Its not for beginner mechanics though. If you've work on your car a lot and understand how and engine and supercharger works, you may not have any problems. I've read many posts that stated that if you haven't installed one before, don't install one. If that were true, then no one could install one. Anyway, I only had a couple of problems. One problem was the directions with the kit had a few errors. That is why I stated that you should know how everything works first so that you can know whether the directions seem correct. The other problem I had is trouble shooting. I still haven't worked out all the bugs. Fordchip said they could fix it. So, its probably tuning/programming related. Its a moot point now. Good luck and have fun.

Well all, it arrived today. Everything looks awesome and shipped in great condition. I will be starting the install on Friday 8-22. Its too damn hot to start today. The cobra fuel pump is sweet! The powdercoater did an excellent job. Im sure I will be done by next weekend. Ill keep you posted. When Im done, we should have another Chicagoland meet so everyone can look at it and drive it too.
Zack, are you bringing that beast to Ennis?

so how much are the superchargers running. I hear a lot of people talking about them.....but I have never seen any prices or prices of other options. I noticed we are getting a few new sponsors offering superchargers, but havent seen prices. I want to know how many meals I have to skip in order to get mine.
