View Full Version : K&N Filter response
Just received the following email and thought I would share it with everyone here...
Hi Todd,
R&D is currently in the process of purchasing an air box for this filter.
Once they are able to get the air box they will begin development on the
filter. You can check back with us after the new year for a possible
update.
Thank you,
Lisa Sutton

The 33-2012 will work. We have already installed it in one. A little snugger thant the stock filter, but does not hurt anything.

Yup. I think the 33-2012 is listed for a mid 80's Crown Vic . Not that it matters, but it does fit well.
what auto store are getting the filter from?

advanced auto has filter for 49.99, autozone for 64.99, pep boys 53.51. just put mine on today, after 25 miles car ran like crap, poppinng, sputtering, etc. pulled filter off, re-installed, runs fine? have oem filter in trunk, just in case.

You did not put any oil on the filter when you installed it did you? It sounds as though some oil may have got on the MAF sensor wire. We haven't had any problems with my friends car and it's been in there a month.

nope, no oil. they come oiled from the factory, have k&n filters on my bike and the lexus,no problems there. only thing i thought was it might not have been seated right, maybe sucking too much air for the computer. fit isn,t perfect, but pretty good. won't use silicone sealer yet, will wait and check size against new filter, when available. hmm, with increased horsepower from filter and chip i should be well over 350 hp!!! well, maybe 250.

The K&N filter you're talking about (33-2012), is that for the Marauder, no one has stated that it was, just curious. I'm thinking about purchasing one for my Marauder and want to make sure that it fits.

I've read here that it is for an older Crown Vic, but fits the Marauder, though snuggly. I intend to try it.

the k&n 33-2012 filter is NOT specifically made for the 03 MM, however it does fit. as you probably know mods are few and far between. I put this filter in because I also have k&n in my bike and my lexus, and have used them for 15-20 years and swear by them. it's all choice, but, with so few add-ons out yet, it's either spend money on what is out, or wait for the actual parts to be offered! nah, then what would I do with my money?. won't drive the car in the winter[unless the suns out,or I just want to practice 360's on snowy roads], might as well buy stuff now when I can actually enjoy it. my 4 cents worth.

Received my K&N (33-2012) today. It's a nice fit.
I can finally break the tires loose from a dead stop (at a light) :)
Thanks for the info.
