Fellas help me out here. I just picked up a 2003 MM and was able to stretch out her legs all the way out to 130MPH? I thought these MM were speed limited to 117MPH? I spoke to the previous owner and he said he NEVER did any mods except the 2 chamber Flowmaster and drop in K&N.

I believe the factory limiter is actually 127 MPH. Given that these speedos are not certified they might read anywhere from 125-130.

The Marauder and CVPI is speed limited to 128 MPH so 2MPH over thst is not unusual.

Still proud of it. 132, o/d off, stock, on 91 octane ;)

Felt like it could go more, but I didn't want to push it, cuz of all the stories how it was supposed to be limited to something lower.

At about 120ish on my stock speedo is when I hit the limiter brick wall.

I even got a picture of it somewhere.

What does it feel like when the limit kicks in? Does it just not let you go any faster or does it like try to mess with you and slow you down?

couple of signs... the rear view mirror starts blinking red and blue and the stereo makes a high pitched siren like sound. Followed by complete shutdown. Not to fear..... these signs mean help is right outside your window.

Now that is downright funny.

My MM is oldetimers street limited to about 80 MPH plus or minus, except on the 1/4 mile drag strip and then it's reaction limited to about 103 plus or minus.

It just stops accelerating.

My explorer at 104 would shut down, coast till 100 then go back up.

I've got to over 130 without tune, It never hit the limiter. In My truck I hit the limiter numerous times, It feels like the engine shuts down and then catches up once it coasts to below the limited speed.

Hang on Here!!! A trooper took me for a ride after my visit to Denis , & I had the Headers & Magnaflows done too... 410's & 3000 PI stall torque. I sincerely believe we were past 145 MPH when I begged him to slow down.... We were still 800 RPM before the rev limiter would have kicked in. How fast could my baby have really gone I don't know .... 165mph???? I almost needed to change my shorts.!!!!!

Hit 122/23 bone stock, still had more go. Do you guys turn o/d back on (ease off the gas, then turn on, then go at it again)or just leave it off until top out? I know the car shifting into 4th while under WOT is terrible for the clutch bands, but is it bad to turn on the overdrive at these speeds (not WOT)?

Even the previous gen mustang cobra was aerodynamically limited to a lot lower speed than 165, at least according to published specifications (I think around 150-155 was the published aerodrynamically induced limit). At some point you would need like a million hp to overcome drag, no matter how much gearing is left.

I've got mine up to 85mph before. I think i'm gonna put a limit of 65 on mine to control my Heavy Pedal Syndrome.

You have one of the NSA versions. They were not for purchase by the public.

If you drop the rear cover you will see a marking consisting of a series of letters ending in NSA.

These models came equiped with a taller gear ratio and a thin wire mesh screen in all the glass. Look down the edge of a partially rolled down window on a sunny day and at just the right angle you can see the tiny titanium mesh.

It's a rare one and there are no official counts on how many were made.

If you do a carfx report you will see it was not titled for a long period of time after it was made.

I always thought these had been sent to the crusher.

Hold on to it and sell it to a collector, one day it will sit next to Elvis Caddillac!

What is an NSA version? I did a search; nada?

I have personally had a new 2006 CVPI with a lightbar, and no push bumper up to 140 and it didnt feel as if it were ready to shut down. I laugh every time I see that car on duty, I call her "White Lightning" now.

I have had my stock MM up to 130 and ran out of road before I could see what the top was.

Well it may be flashed the stock PI is speed limited to around 128 MPH

What is "flashed"? It is over 128, because a guy I work with claims to have had his 2003 in the upper 130's also (his is a slick top W/ wrap around bumper). + I know im not crazy (or lying)! We get our PIs with 90% of the equipment installed, is it standard for them to do some additional mods for performance?
