Can anyone tell/show me where this "C" clip thing is since I would like to replace it if I go into the transmission!!:cool:

It's just behind the front pump. It retains the mechanical diode (which is also
the intermediate clutch hub) onto the reverse clutch drum. Sonnax P/N 76554RK.

I have heard of this thing for 4years and what problems folks have had with the OEM "C" clip coming off??:confused:

Mine has been OK for 157K miles so far but when I get the trans rebuilt I will have the spiral installed just in case!!:beer:

Just make sure that they stake down the retainer. You don't know how many of these I have seen come in on so-called 'performance' transmissions that have failed because they were improperly installed.

The tranny pump seal has started leaking at 85,000 miles--it is warranteed---the dealer is going to replace the pump and seal--what should I have him check--or should I have some mods done at this time??? Thanks , Maury:confused::help:

Actually for the small price of them, that spiral lock is the best thing you can do if they are in there. If you need one let me know.
