The wheels are just terrible... But I think I actually kind of like the fake fender vents. What do you think?

The vents are a callback to the early buicks and if this was done correct there would be four vents on each side to represent a V8.
Those vents have become popular recently and I dont think they look too great.

i dont like Buicks "Famous" vents being on the MM. Mercury is too good for that

I don't know where the theory about the Buick vents comes from. But The Buick Venti-ports were used to denote the cheap cars versus the expensive cars. Originally only the Roadmasters got the four holes per side. The Special and Super, both got three holes per side. All were V-8 models. The V-6 hadn't been invented yet ! By the mid fifties things got confusing as some of the lower modles also got four holes per side. On Certain years, the Century model got four holes. but that may be because the Century had the more powerful Roadmaster engine, in the smaller Special body. And yes, Buick's Century beat Pontiac's GTO to the Muscle car formula by several decades !

And I agree, those wheels on the MM are UGLY !

Those fake fender ports are on EVERYTHING around here. I swear that I have personally seen them on S-Series Benz, Mazda 3 Series, Domestic and Import pick up trucks, and more Nissan and Hondas than I can keep track of.

no that was Snoop Dogg and other rap artists that began doing this to their older impalas... calling them DONKS. Chip Foose puts larger wheels on some of his muscle cars and what not but never 22' rims on anything but maybe a full size ford that was lifted.
