Hi all I finally got around to post the install of my Avic-D3. I installed this one myself and for those of you that may want to put the original stereo back in some day, with the D3 you do not have to cut anything inside the dash, only the top and bottom lip must be cut for the D3. I already had my empeg mp3 player in the dash and my two amps and the bazooka, so it made it easy to pop in the pioneer. A big thanks to John for the TS-D801P those are some very nice speakers! Here is a shot of the D3 and the startup screen, I hope no one gets mad at me for using it :)

Here are some pics from when I was installing the speakers.

Here is a shot of the bazooka in the trunk, I know everyone is thinking: OMG he drilled into his gas tank! but no I didn't I put a 1/4" thick piece of plywood under the carpet held down with silicone and used very short screws to mount the tube.

Here is a shot of the amps, one 4 channel and one mono for the tube.

Oh and yes the sirius screen is very bland.

I wish I taken more pics when I was in the dash but I was in a hurry.

Looks pretty good although I do have one question. Does the power wire run to the engine compartment and if it does is there a fuse on it there. If not you need to move the fuse holder under the hood for saftey.

Oh yes, there is a ANL fuse right at the battery, the holder in the trunk actually has two fuses in it one for each amp. I am sure you have seen the same kind of goofy stuff that people do, like no fuse at all and the go old "shove the power cable through the door so the hinges can cut it in half and burn the car to the ground" :shake:

Yep I just got those from John, they are great and he has the best price you will find on them too :D just give him a call he is a great guy and ships fast too. The Z2 has a bigger screen so it will fill up most of the opening. The Z2 is very nice, just a little pricey for me though.

I saw those speakers only once in circuit city and when i went back to get them they were gone. The salesclerk told me they weren't going to sale them anymore because they were too expensive. How do you like the sound and do they come in 6 X8 ???

Yes they are a true 6x8" and they sound incredible, they have a very natural sound. If you google the part number TS-D801P and go to pioneer's website they have very detailed pictures of them. The speakers also have real crossover networks built onto the back of them not just a single capacitor for the tweeter like many other speakers, this gives them a much better sound too because only the low notes go to the woofer and only the highs go to the soft dome tweeter.
