New Seat of the Pants Thrust!

OK-- Installed new shorty heaters and X-Pipe with EGR and OH BOY-WOW

The sound is much more stronger /deeper/and throaty than I could imagine...more so that I don't think the flow/40's will be on the horizon anytime in the near future-- if at all.

Inside cabin sound is much more pronounced and deeper --like a rocker ship....and the extra power is very , very noticeable!

Even at idle, push on the throttle--sounds l better I think than a croba with flow/40s...this is of course is cause mine has the clear tips from Wes Chain.......WOW -what a difference....

Now the mid-section is complete for anything forward or behind the x-pipe-- but since Dennis says he is getting super HP with the stock exhaust (same as mine except for the pipes) -I think I'm now ready for the next step--as Sarge would say--now you've got her running stronger --so now it's time to bring her to a better/quicker stop --it's relative you know...anyway--the headers and x-pipe is a strong recommendation if you have been on the fence post....it's definiately the right move for me...it must seem like an extra 15 HP to me..but it's just a seat -of-the pants - feel --so will wait later for numbers-- sorry for long talk but the sound and power is incredible.. I won't do numbers till I am finished ..don't want to know ..it's more fun piece by piece for me...hell I know she is fast----and more faster today than yesterday.....

So if you are w/clear tip-s... I recommend this before any muffler mods... thats my report for ya...

I was counting on you to test the 40s with your tips for me!!!!! Now I probably will just keep my tips and get the headers.

Butch-- I believe you had the 40's with stock tips-right? I f so, headers with the 40's maybe be ok with OEM tips--not sure --there were several types that morning....

But wait--hear mine next time then decide---yes,was going to do the 40's, but felt stronger urge to do this instead--like I was saying---40's can be done later--but if they were done first before hand--and the headers later then they may have
caused the entire sound features to be too loud--then something would have to be changed--so I rather not do it and do this first ...besides, it gives me one up on doing anymore ahead of it or behind it--...I recommend the clear tips for now and then decide any next step you would want after that....I think my route is correct for me and best since I already had the clear tips...thus my recommendation to you......

I have flowmasters with stock tips and that is plenty loud for me. I think a muffler/tip swap will be to obnoxious. By swapping either the mufflers or tips only, we can still maintain 'sleeper' status and not be too obvious as to what were up to.

Mine is in for this mod now. I will have the stock mufflers and baffless tips. I am psyched. Thanks for the post MMman!

Yeah, I'm the one that has the 40s installed with stock tips. Everyone agrees that it is fairly loud, but I really, really want the headers. I have wanted them since I saw them two meetings ago on the Blue MM. I will leave my tips stock for now, and then see how much louder it gets when I put the headers on and see if it becomes too loud. (If that is possible)

I like my 450 hp conversion as it is. In fact compared to my unmodified stock Crown Vic, I have more difficulty using my cell phone. I don't need any more noise since I use my cell phone in my sales work.

I decided not to invest in a new header system for the amount of additional hp gained for the amount invested.

I would like the additional hp, but no more noise.

How much does it cost and how much h.p and can I achieve it without any more noise?
