Just wanted to give a heads up. Last week, started my MM up and had no interior light, power locks and A/C control. I took it in to my mechanic and he found the problem to be a short in my LCM. Dished out $500 bucks to replace it. My questioin is, does anyone know if the LCM can the relays be fixed?
Thanks.

Join the rest of us. (Except me...for now!) This is common for the MM's. Not sure if you can fix it though. I thought when they go "bad," they're done totally. But I imagine if Ford sells reman. ones then it can be done right?

I don't think it can be repaired.....ALL solid state entombed in plastic!!??
My turn signals quit....no blinky or clicky.....Used to just plug in a new flasher but not now......the damn blinky and clicky are made by transistor elves under the steering wheel!!!:argue::mad2:
Lucky mine was still in warranty!!;)

I just had mine replaced under my extended coverage. I had to tap mine to make the headlights work.

Join the weary crowd. Had mine replaced under warranty in August. Now it's the GD heated seats control module!!! I wish FoMoCo would stick these guaranteed-to-fail "control modules" where the sun don't shine.

The internal relay has been replaced with an external one before. Check out this thread from crownvic.net:
Linky (http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=11&Number=1318025&Searchpage=4&Main=84014&Words=LCM+relay&topic=0&Search=true#Post1318025)
Might be helpful for those of you out of warranty.

I couldn't readily see the NEC part number of the relay, but if needed, you can buy replacement at:
http://www.mouser.com/search/Refine.aspx?Ne=254085+1447464&Ntt=*EQ1*&Ntx=mode+matchall&Ns=P_SField&Mkw=EQ1&N=1323038%20254085&Ntk=Mouser_Wildcards
I'm assuming I can post the above site for direct replacement of an OEM failed part.?.

Southern Lincoln Mercury just told me I had a bad LCM and wanted $792.00 to replace. I found this place online that has one for $239.00.

Has anyone dealt with this place? They have good prices for their parts. I was just wondering if they were legit.
The website says Ford Parts Center. Is the LCM easy to replace yourself? I hate working under the dash, but I want to try that first.

Contact Ray "The Dealer" at Northeast L/M...he very kindly gives mm.net members a significant discount.

I have a good feeling my LCM is causing the problems with my wipers and kinda with my headlights now. Replaced the wiper motor and MF switch still no change besides after the wiper motor replacement I got some control of the wipers back.
Anyone know if the LCM is covered under the Base Care ESP by Ford cause that's what I have on my car.

I am pretty sure that only the top warranty covered body electrics
