So i made a u turn and meet the guy. he was at a tire shop on old york road and his first question was why doesn't his air suspension doesn't work? well i told him to check this and that and as i'm looking at it they put the fronts on the back and vise versa , i told him so he started hollering at the one who put them on it was funny to watch anyways it was neat to see a white close up but it was an awful paint job .under the trunk lid was black and inside the fenders was black with overspray(looked like spray paint) and he said it was sitting for a year. told about this site for all his mm needs...

You know, if people didnt think you were a cop, white is a good color for a sleeper. Think about it- black usually means baad, and white usually means good, "innocent", clean etc. Tune er up and cook some rice baby!!!

Thats a beautiful shade of white offroad. I don't like how the god's head is on an angle with the neck going down and to the right, unlike how they are debossed in our seats.

Monet is the painter. Looking way back in posts... looked like spray painting.. what would you expect, a roller or brush? It was originally spray painted at STAP by the CAW

SB MM owners are way outnumbered by Black MM owners. It would be a bloodbath if we went to war.

Black you have to spend an hour(or more) cleaning off dust as to just taking an SB though the car wash.

I am thinking about respraying my MM in a white pearl, like an 03 Acura TL white pearl, sometime in the future. It's too bad you couldn't get this car in white (then again Ford couldn't sell this car to save their lives, and the jelly bean colors they added didn't save sales, so one more color was probably out of the question). The only color I was slightly interested in was silver, but when I saw more pics of it it does make the MM look like a fleet grand marquis. Oh well.

And white ain't gonna make it look like a fleet CV ???

Doesn't matter what colors they offered. The MM was always destined to be a limited production run. They made 11,052. They sold 11,052. That's it.

The jelly bean colors are located in Detroit .... purple, lime green, puke yellow, and orange. The 4 original colors are getting rarer every day. :P

I meant any colors by jelly bean. I guess the puke ones really are jelly bean colors though. LOL. A custom multi layer pearl white definitely will not look fleet.

I would love to have seen a Marauder produced in that 94-96 impala green/turqoise or whatever. Even though it would have been a complete rip off of idea.

Like this one.

I actually think that color looks to "simple." Like it doesn't stand out all too well. I wonder if that Impala is really an SS. Dog awful ugly rims on it too.

I think the caprice/impala/buick roadmasters are just damn ugly in general. The 5.7 LT1 engine is a really excellent motor that I would run any day given the choice. That body I could do without though. It looks like an overinflated vacuum cleaner bag. Gramps green?

The LT-1 is a boat anchor. I have a friend with a 96 Z28 that he dumped a ton of money into engine work and bolt-on's and it only made the car a full second faster to put him in the high 12's. Pull the LT-1 and do the same work on a LS-1 and you have a N/A 11 second Z28.
The engine doesnt respond to mods as well as our cars or a newer chevy engine

LS-1 is the wtg. i saw one in hot rod with this motor the car runs consistant low 10's and the owner is looking for 9's soon ( as i read ) and w/o the slicks on its a daily driver..

You know whats funny? We have a really good mechanic here at work and he's worked on nothing but Chevy engines. He actually hates the LS-1 and would prefer the LT-1 even though I told him the LS motors have better "adaption" to bolt ons and react very well.

The engine doesnt respond to mods as well as our cars or a newer chevy engine"As well as our cars?" Um yeah okay. The 4.6 needs to be boosted just to get out of the 13s in this car. LOL. The 4.6 DOHC is a high tech, cool motor but that is just a really funny comment to make about the LT1, which does not need boost to pound out some serious power. They are totally different engines, each w/ their own strong points, but you can't go too far wrong with a SBC w/ the parts available for them.

Not really, quite a few have gotten into the 13's with n/a. John and his MGM have, fast car did, and i know there are afew im leaving out, i just forget there names :(

Plus, there are MILLIONS of mods for a sbc, and its also 1.1L bigger. Plus the LT1 has a bit more low end torque than a 4.6L dohc does.

Stranger in the Black Sedan
12-18-2007, 09:32 PM
My point wasn't that it's impossible to go fast na w/ these cars. Just that knocking an LT1 as not responding to mods over the 4.6 in a big big heavy car, is pretty damn funny. It's a point of diminishing returns kinda thing. Mildly modifying an LT1 will net less than mildly modifying an LS1, but mildly modifying a TPI will net you less than mildly modifying an LT1. But they all can be modded very easily to make big power.

Who in this post was knocking on the LT1 for it to not respond well to mods compared to the 4.6?
