Can you post your dyno values and track times here? Having trouble finding any.

I don't have 1/4 mile #s...but here are my stock and after "a few things here and there" Dyno #s.

Paul what mods do you have to pull a 14.3?

Pauls car with the different cam profiles produce more torque where the Marauder does not. Torque is always said to be the factor that pulls the car and produces lower et's. If the Marauder had the down low torque with the high end horsepower it has now, a stock Marauder would have never seen 15 sec. 1/4 mile times. (would have been faster). As you all will see from the dyno tune, Ford Chip adjusts the programming to bring the torque curve in at a lower rpm, producing faster et's.

A perfect example is my car. 279rwhp and 301rwtq yet the best time was 14.2 after 13 runs and i know how to drive it. Now youre saying Paul has 251 hp and 293 tq, whats up with that? Its all in the tuning. Macs old car ran consistent 14.2's after a dyno tune without headers or cats and produced 275rwhp and i think 302rwtq. His car also had underdrives and densos where mine does not. Again, its all in the tuning.

Bone stock I ran a 16.3 at 90 mph w/ 2200 miles on it. I was up against a 15.1 mustang that went through the traps at 88.9. Since then I have done stage 1 RA but haven't had it back up to the track. In my defense for the crappy bone stock run, I have no idea how to launch this car I tried bringing the stall up to 1500 rpm before letting it go but this clearly was not the right strategy. Any tips on how to drive it with stage 1 would help.

Since I highly doubt you spun the tires, I can offer two opinions. 1. Youre car has something wrong with it.
2. You let off the gas before the finish line.
These suggestions are not meant to insult, rather they are the only feasible explanations to me.

Hopefully then the chip, plugs, gears, and stat will take care of the wrongness w/ my car. I assure you I didn't let out until the shutdown area, but thanks for the answer. I know you have a converter but how do you typically launch?

Rangero: Do a search under launch. Lots to read.

there aren't too many NA Crown Victorias that match Paul's performance wise

island dragway in great medaows..right by hacketstown. i went 2 fridays ago. jersey vics was there as well. i made 5 runs and each one was a learning experience.
it was a wheel spinning, leaving the o/d on, screwing up the staging, good time!

i'll prolly go next friday (the 8th) as well.

Racing is a sport, Fat, not a science, and you'll never master a sport. If we could, the fun would stop. Despite some routine tips, like OD off, it's a live show you get one shot at. You'll never get it perfect, even the champs ****** up. Stands to reason that when you feel you made every mistake possible, you will get your best time. Most great plays are really a collection of errors. Keep at it, it the best kind of fun you could ask for.

Buckweat, how does that compare with your pre-chip & gears time?

Yep he's the pioneer of Crown Vic mods and was in contact with Jerry before the first Marauder even rolled off the line.

The Marauders need low end performance. The guy with 301 rwtq makes about as much torque as a stock N/A 5.4L SOHC V8 except I'm guessing ( cause I dont see his chart) its at 4000 RPM or higher.

I've ran several 1/4 mile runs in 87 degree weather with my GtechPro Competition. My best 3 were 15.4 on a road with a very slight incline on a bone stock marauder. Tonight I found a flatter road and will try it again tomorrow. I think I can knock off at least one more tenth.

Also, this was with the Gtech set at 0" roll out versus the standard 12" at the track.

Weird thing though, I lost time when burning the tires. I power braked and let go, the tires slip a second, then right after gripping the car lunges like it is either trying to shift or just plain die, then it takes off again (and yes the traction control is turned off). I actually made the better time when I held the brake, slammed the gas, and let the brake go just a split second later to sort of bounce the car forward using the pull of the suspension.

Got a couple of 16 sec runs with the air on :), most others ran between 15.4 and 15.8 with a 0-60 of 7.2

Marauderer,
The track I ran on would throw you out if they caught you with the air on......drips water on the track.

Yeah, ruined a perfectly good, illegal run on a public road! I had to go back and take a chance all over again.

I don't have dyno numbers yet, but I just ran on the 1/4 track.

The first run was hot off the street and my very first time to visit a track. The best time was after a 20min cooldown and 25psi in the rear tires.

That sure was fun. Bit hot at 95F too. Let's see what happens after a tune :D

Sunday at Houston Raceway Park is a test and tune, with instant green. On the first try, I was watching for all the yellows to come on. I noticed the green and thought, where's the yellows and then realized wait a second that green is lit, GO , damn it GO!

The second time up I powerbraked and could not get traction untill letting up 3 times. That run was so sad I didn't scan it.

All and all it was rather fun. And a learning experience. Hope to get a tune soon, then try again. I want to see 13's.

Well, at least I beat all of the little ricers I ran against :D
