Well we took in a 04 Red today, and the car is immaculate so we added this to his shopping list. PHP cold air kit, Mezirie Chrome eclectic water pump PI 3000 Stall dyno tune and a fresh transmission, Merry Christmas.

The trans had to come out for the convertor install.

And the trans could be perfectly fine too, maybe the owner wanted to be "ready" for future plans and just install a built one.

No there was no prior issue with the transmission, but there are things you can do to to make it better. So we added the forced lube kit, the J Mod Alto clutches, a hardened Stub shaft and spiral lock clip, since the transmission was out any way for the PI converter and the rear cooling kit.

I did exactly the same thing. Took out a perfectly good core to install a beefcake trans while doing a RCM and a TC. It has been super-reliable with 436 RWHP. Thanx D! :D

I've heard of this stuff but never knew what they actually do.
But what is the forced lube kit, the J Mod Alto clutches, a hardened Stub shaft and spiral lock clip?
I'm at 85k miles now and plan on at 100k miles to refresh the trans which 100k miles should be end of the summer/fall time 2008.

Forced Lube = lubricates tailshaft bearing which only gets 'splash' lube in stock form
J Mod = opening up a few oil passages for quicker, firmer shifts. Not only are quicker, firmer shifts better performance wise, but wear the clutches less.
Alto Clutches = good clutch material. There are 3 clutch sets inside the tranny.
Hardened stub shaft = at certain point during the shifting and in 3rd gear ALL of the engine torque is carried through on about a 5/8" diameter shaft. Stock can shear off like a screw that's too tight. hardened is hardened.
Spiral lock clip = better quality positively locking retention clip. Stock likes to jump out of place.

What's a round about price to do all the stuff, if you know?

Well we finished the car today, we had a great time and he is in his way to South Florida, the car mad about 271 RWHP on the dyno, as you can see at
5800 RPM the car is running almost 135 MPH.

Is that a good thing for 135mph at 5800rpms? Last time I had my car dynoed it did 149mph at 6300 or 6400 rpms then the dyno shut down lol.
