Has anyone installed an after-market valve body and torque converter (like BC Automotive)?

What performance gains (rbhp) can I expect from the added valve body and torque converter, please?

How much does each part cost?

What I have:
- 2004 Marauder
- 4.10 gears
- Metal Matrix drive shaft
- SCT X-Calibrator 2 Flash Tuner
- no super charger

Gather your pennys...It 'aint cheap...;) But worth every penny!!!

Just installed a BC Auto 3,500 stall TC, and had a full J-Mod done...:banana2:

Call Darin for prices on the TC...The J-mod costs nothing (if you do the work yourself), other than two valve body gaskets, because there are no parts to install...just drilling out specific holes in the separater plate...Cost is for labor if you have someone else do it...

It's a great mod...I'am VERY happy with it...would do it again, in a heart beat...

Car is much more quicker, off the line...Will spin the tires for @ five (5) feet, when the air is cool...

Does not "chirp" 2nd gear...It NAILS 2nd!!!... Spins the tires for @ four (4) feet (with SCT shift press. set at 15%) shifting into 2nd...enough to get the car sideways a little...Surprised the ***** out of me...

I JUST LOVE IT!!! :burnout::burnout::burnout::bu rnout::burnout:

Good luck on your install...

The best way I can explain it is before my Tranny upgrade Involving, custom VB, Beefed up clutches and a 3500 stall TC, my best 1/4 mi time was 14.2 down to 13.7, and the cost will put you between 2k-3k.

I think more MM owners have their converters tan any other mfg.

Only 5 feet??, I could get almost 20 feet on a really cool day at WOT.

Hey Blackened300A...Give me a break...lol

I'm getting there...

Got Steeda UDP's and a EMP/Stewart Warner water pump on the way...Would be nice, if I can get it to spin that much on Hot days as well...

I would be very happy...

BTW: Just for clarification...This (burn out) is on dry rough (road) asphalt, with "like new' tread on the rears...Full trunk load...and NO brake...just throttle...

Parking lot "smooth" asphalt does NOT count...a go-cart can do that...

If I could do 20 ft. burn outs (N/A), in the above mentioned conditions, I would have no need for a S/C...lol

I will most likely be calling Darrin after the S/C install. Local, how long did it take you to do the J-Mod?

Hey Raudy,

I did the TC and the J-mod together...Sent it out to get it done...

Just don't have the time...with the little one, and all...

Took the guy about an hour to do the J-mod...letting the oil drain took the longest part...Had my guy put in a 1 inch copper pipe, cut to length, in place of the springs...to keep the accumilator straight in the bore...I've been told, it shifts harder when a solid object holds the accumilator in place...

You'll love the feeling...

I know I had the J-Mod done on my old CV and loved it. This new "solid" piece thing is new to me. Maybe I'll have them do that.

Is there a write up with pics on the J-mod?

Yes there is...This site is where I got a copy...

I'm sorry I don't know how to send it to you...

Use the search button, type in "j-mod"

look on the lower portion of the first page for fastcar's post "j-mod discrepancy between plans...

In that post fastcar includes the link to the j-mod instructions...
