:cool:Got magnaflow model # 14255 polished steel mufflers last July. In the past month or so since weather got cold and damp in Southeastern Pennsylvania I've noticed an intermittent throaty sound out of the back of the car, especially when its cold and while the car is at idle or if I give it a slight tap on the throttle. Is this something that happens after the mufflers are broken in and in use for a while? Sounds really good. Initially the Magnaflows didn't sound much different from original exhaust but I've been told by a Mustang owner with performance mufflers that they tend to get louder and throatier after they are in use for a while. Is this what I'm hearing?

I've noticed my Magnaflows getting louder recently too. Don't know the model number. I've put about 10K on Phoebe since I got her and this is her first winter with us. Don't know how long she's had the Magnaflows (along with DRs Cobra setup) but I'm pretty sure this system was on another Marauder before Phoebe so I have no idea of age.

Hey Thanks Man! I see all those Marauder clips on YouTube and wish mine could sound like some of those. My son whi is a Cobra freak told me he recently noticed my Marauder sounding louder too. I also have about 10K on them since I got the Magnaflows. If they got a little louder I wouldn't mind. Thanks again!

Any muffler that has any sound deadening material will change over time since the material will shift/move/pack.

mufflers do break in and sound different from new, hell try spraing a car all summer and you would swear you put a different exhaust system on it

I have a different model Magnaflows, 14 inch length. Muffler guy told me when he installed them that they would be real quiet the first few weeks. They indeed were quiet then gradually got louder as then got "broken in".
During cool dry weather you may notice a little louder exhaust sound and increased power cause Marauders love the cool dry air. :)

Mine are louder now than when new but they sound really good to me...EXCEPT when the system is cold!!!:argue: When cold and until they warm up they are very raspy with a very sharp resonance point!!! If they sounded this way all the time I'd have them REMOVED ASAP!!!:shake:
BTW....I thought one of the main selling points for Magnaflows was the SS packing that doesn't burn out or pack like glass fibers keeping the tone essentially the same forever??:shake:

Excepting the first couple weeks of daily driving immediatley after install, mine have had consistently the same sound level.
