View Full Version : Baja Marauder?

I was just squinting looking at a picture of a Marauder, tiny small picture.
I mistook it for a pciture of a Subaru Baja, and that gave me an idea.
How about making a Marauder with a switchgate and a short bed on the back, instead of the trunk.
Kind of like a Subaru Baja which is based on the older Legacy design but have a Marauder base and something like a Marauder sport track.
any thoughts?

...and it's useless as a car AND as a truck.

You guys, think about it....
The panther platform would be a great starting point and would support not only our sedan, but also a coupe, a wagon and and Ranchero-style 2-door bedded car.
I've seen prototype 2-door rag. I'se seen photochop wagon. Some one photchop us a ranchero! Jeremy?

Ah, my friend, it depends upon the application.
As a tow vehicle for a trailer queen; what better way to make an elegant arrival at a car show.:D
With extravagant comfort and accommodation for your crew, and ample space for the paraphernalia for cleanup, and display, the Blackwood has few equals.
Sunshine's been lobbying for one of those, for years.
I'm thinking John will need one of those for his new Thunderbolt. ;)

Sorry Mike, but as you know, I'm one of those who believes "SUV" stands for "Stupid Useless Vehicle" and I think the Blackwood, the Honda Ridgeline and the GMC Avalanch are even stupider and more useless than most (not to mention fugly). If you need a truck, buy a MAN's truck, not some over-priced poofty Nancy-boy suburban rich yuppie Franken-truck. :D

Hey, it's a two door Blackwood, and what the MKX could have been.
I really like the rake, on both vehicles .....great job :2thumbs:
Anybody remember the cult classic Harold and Maude? I loved the Jag stationwagon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBxP_331mTw

I think I would rather see a chopped topped Marauder. But for those who like the versatility of a pickup and want to go fast yet not own a Lightning.

I'm with Bob on this one Mike. We actually disagree on something.... Oh well, I guess there's a first time for everything. :)
I'm just too old school. I prefer the days of Jeeps, Broncos, and Blazers. Today they get lumped in with the generic term "SUV" which really waters them down. There's no way a '78 Wagoneer should be placed in the same category as a Hyundai Santa Fe.
If the Subaru Baja was a good idea to begin with, there should be more than 1 of them within a 50 mile radius of my place, but there isn't.

I think you can still rent it, and it would be a worthwhile adventure. Unfortunately, the clip didn't show the wild Jag XKE he turned into a Hearse.;)

I wonder what the MM convertable looks like with its top up? I guess we may never know. With the way I drive My MM on back tree shaded country roads, a convertable version would be nice.
Not to dogg anyone's car building visions, but...
A MM wagon- nice, especially if it were a CVPI, instead of a MM (like the old ones)
A MM coupe- SWEET!! (any good photo shops out there?)
A MM el camino wanna be- no offence but, in my opinion: :puke:
