Just picked it up tonight....
04... black.... certified used 23k mikes for 20k
I really wish I inspected the car A LOT better. I don't know what I was thinking.
Car drove great but on the way back noticed the Fan is broken. It is always stuck on even when it was off. The light on the oil gauge is out and I think a back speaker is blown. Now the even sadder part is the paint. Didn't see it until we pulled into a gas station but a lot of scratches and some spider webs. I don't know what I was thinking I wish I looked it over a lot better. We got there at dusk both days and I swear the car look mint.
:(
My friends say it is not that bad. I don't know maybe ill get over it.
hey those numbers sound familiar, did you buy that one from Dana Motors on Staten Island? Cause I drove out there once when I was looking for mine. At first I was blinded by love for the car but when I drove it, it was not so good. So it was the fan belt eh? I was almost disheartened out of buying a marauder as it was the first I drove, but I found mine in Penn. And don't get too upset, with this forum's advice, there is hope for yours too.
BTW it was dark when it saw it too, but the test drive shook me to my senses, they must have took my advice and fixed it up a bit.

Talk to John from John's Stereo see his forum a little down the main page and he will hook you up with some great speakers.
Get an oil change.
Ask around here about the light and fan and how to fix it.
Post a picture of the paint and we can advise you on that too.
People here know everything about these cars.
PM RoyLPita and ask for an OASIS report. You need to supply him with your Vin #.
As long as it drives great that is the main thing. Enjoy the roar and power.

I think it was the gauge thing if I remember right, and like Diabolical said, just ask around about any problems you find and help will come, and I'm sure you and your marauder will be fine.

A certified car from Lincoln/Mercury has to be almost perfect, such as no blown speakers, paint to be free of defects, all electrical systems working properly, and I'm pretty sure all the bulbs have to be working. Also brake pads have to have more than 50% lining remain, tires also more than 50% to name a few. I also think they are supposed to give you the certified car checklist. Go back to the dealer and let them fix it all.
Good luck  and welcome to the site :)

See if the dealer that you bought your MM from will fix the fan.

Agree w/ above get the Ford Certified check list and bring it to the Dealer ASAP.
They will prob just fu the paint. Find a good detailer or set aside 3 days and do it your self. Get a credit for detail, $300, maybe coupons for service. Many a dealer has fu a Marauder paint job.
Zack wet sanded a MM w/ good success.
I think you have a good used car that needs a little TLC.:)

Does anybody know how to get a check list. I don't think they gave it to me with all of the paper work. I'll look for it once more and shoot out an email to my sales guy.

The light on the oil gauge is outIn case you aren't aware, the OEM oil pressure gauge is a fake. Get a real working gauge kit from one of the vendors here and replace it when you fix the light.

I don't have any from when I worked for FORD, but I found this on the web:

Just scroll down to the list on that page
List looks right to me.:)

Your problems are pretty much common to all MM's.. The speaker is probably just the foam over the subwoofer vibrating and not a blown speaker but some have reported bad subwoofer speakers as well, try bypassing the bass in the stereo and see if it goes away or disconnct the subwoofer to see if thats it..
The light is an easy fix as well. The scratches and spiderweb cracks are a MM thing.. The hood is usually the worst spot to see it.. Mine had it at 39k. The fan is a dealer issue and thats the best place to resolve.. Have them detail the car and fix the gremlins and you will be aok.. Then just keep up with it..
When I got mine, it puffed smoke on startup.. It turned out that the dealer put 5w-30 in instead of 5w-20. I changed it and it went away..

After fixing all these details, you will enjoy your MM better than any other car.
